Tsurai Hoshi a.k.a. Raishi or Rai- The Main Character (16)
Lives in Tokyo with only her dad in a highscale apartment on the third floor. Her mother died giving birth to her. Her father was remarried once, but got a divorce because he missed Raishi's mother.
Her boyfriend is Naniku whom she has know since age eight. She works at a bookstore. Even though her father is a lawyer, she likes to make her own spending money. She plays piano, sings, writes, and draws. Raishi enjoys reading Shakepeare. Her english is very good, considering she goes to the U.S. often with her father. She carries her black bag with her when she can. It holds her drawing supplies and some sheet music she and Naniku are composing. Her cell is in there, but people hardly ever need to call her. They just text Naniku, because it's faster and he has unlimited text, so it's cheaper. Her favorite music is JPop and JRock, but listens to American music as well. She and Naniku always play, sing, and cook together when they can. Her favorite songs are "Ankoku no Tsubabsa" and "Easy Breezy". She also loves Naniku's taste in music, so THEIR favorite song to sing together is "Thank You, My Twilight".
Naniku Tsubasakori a.k.a. Nani-kun- The Main character's Boyfriend and childhood friend form eight years old. (16)
Naniku lost his parents when he was only three. He was adopted by Nami Suisei who also adopted Raven and Yasuzu. Yasuzu is three months younger than him while Raven is nine years older. Nami died when he was 12, so Raven ended up raising him and Yasuzu, even tough she was his foster sister.
Naniku has been in love with Raishi since he was ten years old and hey were at the lake. He plays the guitar and has a special talent for it, and he has an unendng love for music, like Raishi. He's extremely poetic and romantic, but only when he's alone with Raishi. Other times, he is only mildly suggestive (through public displays of affection... or PDA) He works at the bookstore with Raishi, and they take their breaks together at the tea house in the shopping district. When he's at her house, he has a tendency not to wear a shirt. He is twelve days older than Raishi and can switch from very mature to absolutely childish.
Megumi Hoshi a.k.a. Megi (Only from deceased wife) - Main Character's Father (45)
Megumi is a well respected lawyer in Tokyo. He often works cases further away from home, so he is hardly ever home, but dispite that he's very close to Raishi and wants her to live life to its fullest. When Raishi's mom died he remarried, but ended up getting divorced because he missed Kana. He understands how Raishi and Naniku feel, and, secretly, he was expecting them to end up together anyway.
In addition, he helped Naniku learn how to play the guitar, even though his real talent lies in percussion. He's comfortable with Naniku, seeing as how he practically watched Naniku grow up.
Kana Hoshi - Main Character's Deceased Mother (?)
She died giving birth to Raishi. She knew Naniku's mother from the labor coaching classes at the hospital. They became friends during the class and even got a chance to see the baby Naniku and Raishi before she died. She was the one who named Tsurai Hoshi and she was also the one who gave her the nickname 'Raishi'.
Inoto Kimoto a.k.a. Noto - Main Character's Friend (15)
She dresses pretty much normally, but what she lacks in appearance, she makes up for in personality. She's sensitive to personal issues and a very good listener. She enjoys piano, but does not play often, because her swim team practices like mad and swimming is her life's joy. She likes to draw, but, then again, swim takes up most of her free time. In the summer she enjoys playing games at the pool in Raishi's apartment building. She's single and hasn't had time to look for a guy, but she has her eye on a special somebody she sees every summer at the pool...
Kitsuki Haruhana a.k.a. Kii or Kina- Main Character's Friend (16)
She's Yasuzu's girlfriend. The girliest of the group, who definately has no girly taste in music. Her parents buy her girly clothes, because she dare not disappoint them. They are very protective of her, but she manages to squeeze out bits of freedom by letting them dress her the way they want.
Yasuzu Samura a.k.a. Yazu or Yamu
Kitsuki's boyfriend. He lives with Naniku and Raven. He's about two months younger than Naniku, but that doesn't stop him from being totally immature. He admires Naniku's sense of romance.
Raven Hoshi a.k.a. Sis (only when she and Raishi are screwing around, trying to trick people.) - Main Character's Big Sister Figure(24)
Raven is currently single, but not for long. She has emotional insecurities, and covers them up by faking happiness and being hyper. Inside she's pretty messed up and lonely. Even though she has the same last name as Raishi, they aren't related by blood. She has her eye on Houkama who lives in the place below Raishi's apartment.
Houkama Kinochiku a.k.a. Kama-sama (24)
A mathmatical guy who is a loner with red hair who always wear black because when he was born he was just kicked out.He has only a black scarf that he always wears to remember his crapy childhood.
He's never trusted anybody so he became a loner with a high IQ and no love to be shared with anyone. Soon lost his sight so he had to wear glasses. He then mad his own name houkama-kun (pyromanic) because he burned down a house because the family in the house were too happy. He works as a game designer and (oddly enough) his favorite thing to put in games is explosions... He lives in the apartment below Raishi, so on the first floor. He's super rich from helping out so many people with computer issues in his free time. Ever since he saw Raven in the pool two summers ago, he's been attacked by an emotion that he has never felt before.
