She stared at the wall as her mind worked. Flashes of the previous encounter with Mike passed in front of her eyes, like pieces of a movie. Tears streamed down her wounded cheeks as she rose her shackled arms towards the image of her boyfriend, but her fingers go through it, feeling only cold air. She cried and wrapped her bruised and bloody around her chest as she recalled the previous event, that led to her capture. The tears fell down and mingled with the blood from her injuries, she didn't know or care about the extension of them. All she could think of was the one she considered lost and dead was out there, safe and sound. A small smile appeared on her face, relieved to know that fact but regretting the mistake she made.
Giggles echoed through the dark and cold room. What was she thinking when she agreed to meet with the hunters' leader? Or better, what did she drink or eat before that made her high enough to cloud her judgement?
She looked down at the chains and wondered if he hadn't shown up, wouldn't she be in the same position? How long she was like that, in the room, staring and examining the shackles around her small wrists, ankles and neck, waiting for something, she didn't know.
Maybe minutes, hours, days?
She had no idea.
For long periods of time, she examined the room they had locked her in. It had no windows, no decoration whatsoever. The floor was made of cold rough stone, like the walls, but luckily she was sitting on a pillow that was forgotten in a corner. In her mind, she couldn't figure out why there was a pillow in there even though she was happy because of that.
From the outside, the noise of iron clashing caused by the hunters' armour would interrupt her train of thoughts, which annoyed her immensly.
After what it seemed like an eternity, she decided to try and get up, however, her legs were in such bad shape she couldn't stay up for long. In her last try, she fell and landed on the stone floor hard, crying out in pain upon contact though no one came in to see what was that, she didn't even expect it anyway.
So she laid there crying silently in pain, resigned to her fate.
