Eragon sat pondering the thought of what to do next. Now that the Ra' Zac were dead and his training was complete he knew that he had to go after Gaballotorix or at least steal the last egg....if it hadn't already hatched.
Come on little one it is time to go...we must meet Roran, he is waiting at the edge of the forest for you.
Right...
Eragon clambered up on Saphira as Arya ran up to him.
"Eragon, good luck young Rider now eitha! Oh and be safe, Wiol pömnuria ilian." she said smiling at him.
"Wiol ono" he replied, Saphira taking flight.
Eragon what will we do now that the Ra' zac are dead? The king is furious and Murtagh is getting stronger every battle.
I do not know Saphira. I conclude that we must draw out Mutagh and persuade him to come to our side to betray Gaballotorix.
Yes, that would be the wise thing to do little one. Then there is always Omoris and Gladre as well.
Yes but they are wounded
That does not mean they can not fight. Saphira landed a few feet away from Roran
"There you are I was wondering when you would show!" he said standing up
"Roran I need to know now what you plan to do you are wanted by the empire now that you have slain two of the kings greatest servents, and what have you decided to do about Kattrina?" Eragon said walking over to his cousin.
"I want you to take me to Surda that is where the village and Kattrina are."
"But my cousin I need you to fight! Will you go with me to get the last egg?" Roran pondered the thought to go with his Cousin. Does he really think me worthy of coming with him? While his cousin was thinking Eragon let his mind wander, he felt the slight presence he knew he felt some where before...but where? Then it hit him like a rock, When in need of a weapon look under the roots of the Menoa tree the image of Solembum when he told Eragon that came rushing into his mind.
"Cousin! Wait here!" he said to Roran climbing on Saphira Fly Saphira to Arya I need her help! Saphira flew low and fast over the palace in Ellesmera, elves looked at her with shocked and confused expressions on their faces. "Arya come with me to the Menoa Tree! You the reason why!' Eragon called as he saw her walk into her room and start to close the door. Arya looked out and nodded, and with inhuman speed she and Eragon ran to the tree Saphira leading the way. "Arya I need you to see if there is any way that we can get inside the tree...any way at all."
"Eragon I am not sure it will work but I will try nonetheless. Wiol Ono." Arya stepped up to the tree and placed a tender hand on it's trunk, she muttered something in the ancient language so fast Eragon did not catch it. Arya held her breath but did not look up, and after nothing happened in a few seconds she said something else in a language that Eragon did not understand. The effect was instant, the wood beneath Arya's hand vanished leaving an opening big enough for a kull to fit through. Eragon gasped in amazement as Arya stood up from her crouched position and looked at Eragon,
"This is not for me to see, Rider, but for your eyes only. Go and see what awaits you inside the Menoa tree. And Eragon tell no one of this if others found out one could only imagine how they would react."
Eragon stepped over to the tree saying, "Thank you Arya," he peered inside and gasped. Inside the Menoa tree was a small room with rounded walls. In the center of the room a blue sword emenating with a strange light was laying over it's sheath atop a pedestal. In the sword's pommel was a saphirre that shone with the moon's glory. Eragon stepped gingerly over tword it as Saphira looked inside with one eye.
Little one.
I know Saphira isn't it beautiful? Eragon replied as he picked up the sheath and buckled it to the belt Omris gave him, he then picked up the glorious sword and slid it into it's proper place. Once Eragon had done so a cool female voice that sounded oddly familiar spoke from the walls themselves,
"Now that you have aquried your desined sword, young Rider, go and do what you have set out to do. But you must remember that this sword was not intended to be held by anyone but you, and that this sword was not intended for evil acts. With that in mind leave the tree in which you stand." Eragon looked around in shock but stepped out as he was told to. Once Eragon wsa outside the tree the hollow room filled inself with tree and the trunk went back to normal as if nothing had happened. More is to come
