Entangled within the Strings of Yesterday By: Flutter and I^^ [A dusty moth sits at the window --Waiting to be lead into the light As it stares into it with open eyes But I will not give in (--Not to you.) And the light shines, --Brighter-more vibrantly-- Once more seducing the moth (--Seducing me..) Its hypnotic trance claming another as it’s own. (Even as I push you away-just set me free) A silent whisper moves across the valley once forgotten --An echo of a memory from long ago Lingering in my ear Before cutting into my skin-- (Your words still daggers to my soul) And I lie here bleeding --Draining myself of the little emotion left While you watch in the shadows Taking it all in-bathing in my grief And I spread my wings to fly away (--Escape from the pain) As you draw me back --Your still the puppet master-just as before (I just want to be free) Still you pull my strings tighter --Choked- I gasp for air- The light now growing fainter -- I fight to breathe As I allow the darkness to surround me again. A withered rose lies forgotten- In the lost garden of a child --Frost lining its thorns As it sits beneath the pale morning snow (Just let me forget as you did..) The rising sun cast shadows onto the snow, --Rays of light touching the darkened rose petals -- Giving me a little hope (Granting me warmth) My eyes flutter open, And my soul awakens to the light But there you stand, hiding the brightness (Stealing my joy..)
