Kaze was born to a man named Steele over 500 years ago on Hook Coast, the northernmost part of Albion. That may sound nice enough, but the consequences of her birth were rather... odd.
Kaze's mother, while pregnant, was bitten by a Balverine. A Balverine is a terrible wolf-creature... it's pretty much a permanent werewolf. No full moon, no nothing. Once you are bitten and succumb to the disease, you ARE a werewolf... forever. However, Kaze's mother did not turn until she gave birth to Kaze in the snowy banks near Hook Coast. The disease was inside of Kaze, yet it was different. Kaze would only turn into a Balverine whenever the full moon rose. In a sense, she was a traditional werewolf.
Disgusted by her traits and blaming her for the death of his wife, Steele mainly ignored his youngest daughter. As soon as she was eligible for marriage, Steele tried to marry her off. This would've been successful (as she had a large dowry) except for her life as a Werebalverine. Only one man was interested: the bane and hero of Albion, its villain and admired warrior-- Jack of Blades. He was not interested in romance of money, instead he was curious about Kaze's condition. So, they were wed, and Kaze spent a quiet life in the residential tower of Bargate Prison (the place Jack was most likely to call 'home').
Jack was killed by a Hero. Not knowing that Jack's human body was only a shell (his real soul was trapped behind the legendary Bronze Gates-- go figure), Kaze thought that she could live a normal life now. However, the people of Hook Coast were not forgiving. She was chased into the ocean and there she drowned.
Gaia When Kaze woke up, sputtering, she was floating in Bass'ken Lake. She was fished out by a young fairy godmother named Lisa. She adopted Kaze as her sister, and gave her the telltale markings of the Taco clan: The daisy, the ear-fins, and the ducky feet... as the Taco clan were a people of the duck. However, Kaze's odd... er... Werebalverine traits followed her from Albion in the form of a bushy wolftail extending from her rear, and her transformation every full moon. As a Taco, though, Kaze did not become a Werebalverine, but a Wereduck.
All went well for two years, Kaze bought a cottage by Bass'ken Lake and spent afternoons with her new friends and family. Her world was turned upside down, though, when a man drenched in the rain hobbled onto Kaze's doorstep.
That man was Jack.
It seemed that fate knew that the world needed evil, and so when Jack's soul was banished from Albion by the same Hero that killed his human body, the world regurgitated him into Gaia... in a human body: soul and body were one once more. This was both good and bad, for now Jack did not have to rely on his mask to interact with the outside world... but his powers were greatly decreased. He still had enough magic, though, to give Kaze back her memories.
After locking herself for a month in her room, Kaze finally came to terms with her past and re-married Jack (for some odd reason that I'm STILL trying to figure out). They had two children-- a Taco Clan girl named Sara, and a Balverine boy named Archon.
You're probably thinking 'WTF?' Yeah. I am too.
