The Little Witch With The Torn Hat
By Tails
There once lived a little witch that loved to experiment and explore, she was wasn't quite young but for the age of 16 she was still fairly childish. She attended a well known and prestigious school for witches where many well know witches had graduated from but unfortunately for the little witch, her reputation was one of utter clumsiness. She would try to brew a potion and end up taking out the while west wing or try to learn to fly on her broom during a flight class and end up taking out her whole class as she struggled to take control of her broomstick. Despite what would happen, she always kept a happy and kind attitude because she never felt she was alone, there was another person in her life that shared the same unique talent. A Paladin in training would always meet up with her and together they would have such fun and adventures together like one fateful day when Tails, the paladin clumsily swung his sword and lost control, tearing a possession that belonged to the little witch called Wynnter.
One day Tails and Wynnter were walking together in the park, watching their feet and avoiding big rocks. These two were well known to fall over at anytime and would keep the infirmary busy, Tails remember something he had learned from todays class and ran in front of Wynnter to stop her. “Lookie Wynnter! I want to show you something!” Tails said. Wynnter just looked at him with a sarcastic look, “your not going to use one of your healing spells are you? you know what happened last time! Your healing spell caused the class gerbil to grow and go on a rampage, tearing out the door and assaulting the school canteen!" Wynnter yelled annoyed, " I couldn't get the lunch that I paid for!" The Paladin smiled and looked down shyly, “Sorry about that but I have something cool to show you!” He said cheerfully as he drew his training sword, or what Wynnter believed to be Tails' training sword. “Watch this!” Tails said as he spun around just as Wynnter noticed that the blade Tails was wielding was to heavy for him and realised that something horrible is going to happen just as Tails lost balance and came straight for her. “Thats not your blade... AHHHH!!!!” Wynnter screamed as she turned and tried to run but wasn't quick enough, Tails toppled down on top of Wynnter resulting in one human pile on the ground. They both cringed in pain and slowly opened their eyes and caught each others gaze, for a short moment, they both lay there silently as they began to blush. “O...Oh! Sorry!” Tails stuttered as he quickly got off of Wynnter and sat next to her as she sat up, tried to compose herself and fix her hair. As she reached out for her hat, her fingers ran across the material and found a slight defect on her hat, she turned to examine it and found that there was a tear where Tails' sword found its way through her hat.
Wynnter carefully turned her head and her glare landed straight on Tails' face to which he jumped in shock as he looked back into a face of what he believed as a cold-blooded killer. “Umm... err... Wynnter... I'm sorry! I didn't mean to tear your hat but these th---” Tails nervously muttered but was cut off by Wynnter as her eyes began to glow read, “SILENCE! You know how long it took me to conjure up a witches hat?!?! It was the only thing I managed to get right, it was special to me and you went and tore it!!! YOU IDIOT!” She screamed as she pounced from where she was sitting and knocked Tails down as she took a firm grip of his neck. Kneeling on top of Tails, Wynnter shook him with all her might, “Why did you have to do something silly like that!” she said in a harsh tone but Tails just endured it until she let him go. Tails sat up, “I was going to save this up to give to you later today but I wanted to impress you first before I handed it over but because I did something to upset you, I'll give it to you now,” he said as he took out a small box and gently handed it over to Wynnter. She looked puzzled as she opened it and found a silver ring inside encrusted with a single blue gem. “I saved up all my money to buy you that ring and even put one of my prayer gems on it, I hope you like it. Happy Birthday Wynnter, my wondrous witch,” Tails said smiling. Wynnter looked at the ring and then at Tails as tears began to form in her eyes, she had forgotten that today was her birthday and his gift took her breath away. She got up and went at Tails as he tried to get away again but this time, Wynnter wrapped her arms around him and glomped him to the floor. “Thank you Tails, you always remember and know how to make me smile again, you will always be my shinning knight...” She said while fighting back her tears of joy.
Ever since that day, Wynnter had a tear in her witches hat but she never tried to fix it. It was he constant reminder of the that day, the day Tails left her speechless on her birthday and served as a symbol of their friendship that lasted to this day and still lives on.
