ann~there are towers all along the main road. So the chances of getting hit are very slim

tenka~there’s an inn that we can rest at too for a bit
ann~yup. And that’s just past halfway. We can make it to macalania today and take a break there too
koneko~really?
ann~yes koneko. I was scared of this place too. Grandpa practically had to drag me out of the tunnel. Come on guys, we need to get going if we want to get to the woods
they all left the tunnel and made their way towards the inn
reiektsu~what about fiends?
ann~water spells. Staying in one spot isn’t great, so we need to keep moving
tenka~is the ground rumbling? Or is it thunder?
ann~it’s a guardian fiend. I was not expecting him so soon
the kids got their weapons out
ann~you should help them kiba. he’s a bit hard
koneko~you’ll still help too right mom?
ann~yup. Lots of health. Remember to avoid the lightning too

koneko~it hurts...
ann~nothing’s broken at least. Just rest
reikestsu~how did you avoid his sword mom?
ann~i was further back to start. Koneko got the full blow...
tenka~isn’t there healing magic?
ann~i don’t have enough to cast one
reiketsu~potions? Ethers? Elixers?
kiba~there’s enough potions for each of us. We used most of it just now
ann~koneko needs a second. She isn’t looking great. And I didn’t get too hurt
tenka~will we make it to the inn
ann~yeah. we’ll be fine now. The only other strong fiend here is a cactuar, but they’ll more than likely run away

after a while of walking the family got to the inn with no additional mishaps
reiketsu~we should have turned back instead
ann~that’s okay. You did well either way
reiketsu~you still did most of the work
ann~psh, all I did was keep the fiends from attacking. You guys dealt all the damage
reiketsu made a grunt
ann~there’s a sphere over there. It won’t heal you completely, but you’ll feel a thousand times better. i’ll go buy some things

the three laid down the best they could on the cushions. Kiba sat with them and started to peel an orange.
reiketsu~where’d you get that?
kiba~barkeep gave them to me. we’re not staying long, so rest and eat while you can.
He split the orange and gave each a third
koneko~mom said there was a sphere?
kiba~on the other side of the room. Eat that first.

After a few hours of rest they headed off again towards macalania
ann~come on. Macalania isn’t much further. we can rest again too
koneko~will there be fiends?
ann~yeah, there will still be fiends. there’s only one really bad one. I don’t see it often so we’ll be okay
reiketsu~what’s the fiend?
ann~it’s called a plasma, and it can change its magical weakness so it’s a pain to fight.
A bolt of lightly struck close and koneko grabbed onto kiba
kiba~it’s okay honey
koneko~but it will hurt...
ann~don’t worry. it’ll only hurt for a few minutes. At least grandpa isn’t here. He will laugh at you
tenka~sounds like he wasn’t very nice to you, mama
ann~nope. Not a bit. But he did carry me after I got hit by lightning, so I guess it’s something
reiketsu~you sure grandpa won’t get revenge because of what we’re saying?
ann~no. Not at all. Now if you did this about grandma, then that’s different.
koneko~it’s because she’s momochi?
ann~yup. Uncle zabuza’s like that too. Which is why if you don’t want to fight him, make sure haku is around. If you don’t show an interest to fight, he’ll make sure zabi doesn’t force you to
kiba~are you sure you should be telling them this? you’ve been picking on zabuza for years. Not to mention he is dead too
ann~he’s dead but not retired
tenka~uncle zabuza is fun to fight to...he panics sometimes
koenko~i’ve never seen him panic?
reiketsu~you see it easier if you don’t try to block kubikiribocho. Just remember that you will get hurt if he can’t change the blade’s path
ann~you shouldn’t even be doing that to him with the sword. Besides getting hurt, you’ll end up damaging buildings and stuff. The inuzuka training grounds can’t handle that kind of abuse
reiketsu~but mom!
kiba~she is right, son. With the three of you sparring together one of you might get seriously injured if he lost track of you. Kakashi sensei stumbled across your mother and zabuza once, and she did exactly that. Zabuza let go of the sword and it flew past kakashi. Luckily he only lost a book, and that had been the only incident with flying swords
triplets~okay...we won’t do it...
ann~good. i’d hate it if I had to discipline you for causing an accident
they sighed, and koneko yelped when another bolt struck close
ann~don’t worry. we’re close to the end now. You can see the clouds clearing up ahead
