OPERATION SAVING GRACE
SITUATION
At approximately 0454 on 29 JANUARY an emergency call was received by the Gaian Central Emergency Office (GCEO) concerning a missing persons report. Due to legal process, official declaration of a missing person was delayed by a full 48 hours, at which time the GCEO validated and published an official bulletin declaring one Rachel Maybel missing. Known widely as the only daughter of the Gaian Confederacy's Drug Interdiction Force (DIF) captain, Saloman Maybel, immediate suspicion shifted from locals to the Neitche Cartel, located along the Gaia-Brissian boarder.
Using DIF assets, Gaian satellites tracked a moderate sized convoy heading away from central Gaia and stopping at a small compound at the bottom of a ravine five miles away from the Brissian boarder. Facial recognition software confirmed a 87% match between an unknown female in the compound, apparently held captive, and the known image of Rachel Maybel. Given the compound's location, and known members of the Neitche Cartel making an appearance in the compound over the past three days, analists from both the DIF and UGMF have determined that Rachel Maybel was indeed kidnapped by the Neitche Cartel for reasons unknown. No demands have been made concerning her release, causing the involved agencies to agree that execution is imminent.
Per executive order from the Gaian government, the UGMF is hereby tasked with the rescue of Rachel Maybel. As part of this order, the UGMF will create a minimum task force of one squad, code named Task Force Reaper, to accomplish this mission. Detailed satellite imagery has been provided for study of the area, as well as accurate counts of hostile personnel, near threats, and non-combatants in the area.
OBJECTIVES
Primary:
- Infiltrate the compound
- Locate, recover, and exfil the VIP
Secondary:
- Eliminate present cartel personnel
- Destroy base communications
* Be advised, completion of primary objectives are paramount. As soon as exfil is confirmed UGMF aircraft will drop heavy munitions on the compound to destroy it.
WEATHER
Given the winter season, and the area's elevation, snow has covered much of the ground varying from a few inches to three feet of snow. Cloud cover has prevented much sunlight and more snow is expected to fall during this operation, adding an expected two to five inches to existing snow accumulation.
Temperatures peak around 34 degrees Fahrenheit and drop as low as 15 degrees Fahrenheit.
PURPOSE
The purpose of this operation is the recovery of Rachel Maybel before her imminent and public execution.
ADVERSARY FORCES
Current intel puts enemy strength at the following:
- Two fixed PKM machine guns stationed at the two Entry Control Points
- One 120mm Mortar tube located in the southeast corner
- Minimum of thirty personnel; Maximum observed at any time was sixty
- Nearby cartel compound housing fifty personnel with small arms, a vehicle-borne .50 caliber machine gun, and RPG-7s.
- Assume all personnel have standard AK-47 style weapons, sporadic RPG style weapons, and at least four mobile heavy weapons (M249 style).
FRIENDLY SUPPORT
- Brissian has committed two attack helicopters of unknown style for emergency aerial support
- UGMF satellites will provide all friendly communications
- A UGMF drone will provide real-time imagery of the compound for both Task Force Reaper and the UGMF Situation Room
- After exfil of VIP, two UGMF jets will drop four 500 pound bombs on the compound, rendering it effectively destroyed.
- Brissian has also committed to post-exfil bombardment with long range artillery cannon fire
INFIL AND EXTRACT
Task Force Reaper will be dropped off two miles away from the compound under cover of darkness, using the mountainous terrain to hide helicopter noise as much as possible.
Pending any complications, exfil will by authorized half a mile away from the compound at designated X-Ray Green. Should hostile contact be too sever to allow for safe extraction, X-Ray Blue will the the backup point, located a mile and a half away from the compound. Brissian helicopters will provide close support for exfil if they are not already on station. Exfil UGMF helicopters will return to UGMF main base for any medical treatment and debrief before any information is release to the public.
