To Be Ourselves
By: Me again
To be our true selves is all that we want,
Accepted and loved for the person we truly are...
Yet we hide behind the curtains we share with the world,
a cloak for the play occurring on stage.
Dare we pull back the curtains and reveal ourselves?
No, we mustn't! There is too much fear.
What will they think of us, what will they say?
They'll take everything the wrong way.
And so we must live with the face on display,
in agony, in torture, we live day to day.

I obviously like vampires. However, I enjoy writing about just anything that seems interesting to me. Send me some poems and I'll put them in my journal and I will include your name on the poem.
