You're short,
You're spunky,
You're independent.
That's what you hate about yourself.
You call yourself a potato,
An ugly butt.
But that's not what I see.

If only you could understand what goes through my mind when I look at you;
Those moments when you catch me staring with an awkward smile on my face.

I find it funny, I find it cute,
When you growl at me because you don't want a hug.
Because you're too afraid to express your feelings in public.
And I want to understand.

I want to know what's wrong, and what you're always sad about
So I can make you feel better.

Even like myself, I'm not a very touchy person.
But I find myself cold when I watch others hug you.
Even when your moirail is there,
And you chat,
I try to listen
because I care about you.
And if you would choose to be with someone else, then that's alright.
I just want to see you happy.

But please, let me just say,
You're beautiful to me.
I wish you would let your hair down,
And I wish I could hug you as often.
So when you call yourself a potato again,
I'll call you a succulent little steak fry.

And then you'll blush.

I want nothing more than to see a true smile on your sharp-chinned face.
