Everybody here has heard of diabetes, right? You're probably thinking, "Yeah, it's a disease you get when you eat unhealthy like." That is WRONG! scream And for anyone who think that way after reading this, I'm going to be mad at you. stressed stressed
So there are two types of diabetes. Diabetes 1, a.k.a. juvenile diabetes, often like the name suggests is found in children or young adults. So in a normal human being that is healthy, they have an organ called the pancreas (everyone has it and you can't donate it). The pancreas creates this hormone (? I think it's a hormone) called insulin. Insulin opens up cells (metaphorically). It acts as a key to open up cells. Why would a cell need to be opened? This is because in every food or drink you eat (except for cheese and jello and meat) cheese_whine there are things inside it called carbohydrates, carbs for short. These carbs give you energy to obviously do things (it's also basically sugar). But they need to go into your cells. Your cells need to be open to get the energy/carbs. You see why you need insulin to open your cells now?
Well, when you have diabetes 1, for whatever reason your pancreas stopped creating insulin. cry Without insulin, you could not get the sugar into your cells. You would get very tired. We do not know why your pancreas has stopped creating insulin though. For people with diabetes 1, they will need to inject themselves with insulin everyday. Since we do not know why your pancreas has stopped creating insulin, there is no cure for diabetes 1. In other words, you will have it for life, until they find a cure. So for people with diabetes 1, they will need to give them self at least 4 shots everyday. They cannot miss giving them self a shot and must always have a breakfast, lunch, and dinner. There is no skipping meals.
People with diabetes 2, a.k.a. adult diabetes, is something similar. Except, if you get it, you get it when your an adult and it's somewhat curable. So for diabetes 2 your pancreas still works but the insulin it makes doesn't open the cells. One reason you will get diabetes 2 is being over weight and being unhealthy. You could take shots, but there is also pills. If you lose weight or eat a healthier diet, you could reduce your risk for diabetes 2.
THAT IS WHAT DIABETES REALLY IS!

When people ask to describe myself I find it is interesting, for they don't want to know something about me they want to know all about me. I will plan to write about whatever will come to my mind.
