I went to a beach party yesterday. I was very scared at first because of the fires and the noise. It reminded me for a moment of Mauserak. As I stayed for a while, though and I soon found that the fires were for warmth and cooking long pieces of meat. They also cooked small sweet tasting pillows in the fires and put them on a kind of sweet hard bread with brown squares that were also sweet and melted into a thick cream. They called them s'mores. I thought they were quite delightful. The more time I spend in Gaia, the more I realize that the people here are focused on having fun. It's a nice change from being focused on survival.
As I was staring at the ocean, I found it hard not to reflect on my father's death. I was tempted to let my tears mingle with the salty waters, but I soon found myself swept up in the music. I even danced. It was... fun. I am finding that there are things to learn in Gaia that are not in their books. Perhaps there is another kind of knowledge that I could not find in Mauserak because all knowledge had been bound between the covers of books long ago and had since been forgotten. I can't help but feel oddly connected with this place. The beach party continues for about a month. I am most certainly going to attend again. 3nodding
