i swear I was only outside for 5 minutes, and now i'm burned.
getting my revenge of the crown boxes (=rant i'll never publish) means the posters I'm in charge of making for Princess Night next Tuesday are totally awesome already- all I've done is sketch the words out in very light pencil.
muahaha.
Yesterday was fun, and most interesting. Parade had a major (but very short) bout of rain in the beginning, then it was a perfect day. ^^ My face looked icky because I braided my bangs (=they couldn't properly frame it), but I wasn't fiddling around with them like everyone else when it got super windy during the parade. Probs gonna try leaving them down next Saturday; if need be, I can braid them in a flash later on.
so after all the festivities, I drove home and saw a red pickup in the driveway. Thinking it was the father of someone I despise most greatly, I was dreading going inside, but when I finally got to the door, who was it but the VDE boys who held the door for me. o.O
fast forward half an hour, and we're all on our way to a different town that had a cheap movie theater (adult ticket is $6 whoop whoop!). Karen and I saw Madagascar 3... totally awesome! we were grooving out during the credits haha.
the rest of the gang went to see Promethus, which still had a good 45 minutes to go when we got done. When Karen and I walked out of the theater, there was torrential rain coming down, and the workers had a radio on that was reporting tornado warnings and such for our area, with a funnel being spotted south of a town..... which was exactly where we lived.
So I instantly called mom, to find out that she and dad went out on the road to watch the funnel come halfway down, then go back up. xD
fast forward a few minutes, and the sirens in town go off, which meant that the remaining 3 movies that were showing were stopped and everyone was gathered into a "safe" theater. after a while, we went back out to the lobby thinking we could leave, but then the power started flickering, which meant everyone was hustled back into the theater for half an hour or so.
Minus being blinded by someone who had an insanely bright flashlight behind me (and was unaware that she was shining it directly in my eyes) and getting into an argument with C about his maturity (=college junior hanging out with a high school freshman and acting just like one), 'twas relaxing haha.
when we finally plucked up the courage to leave, we only got as far as normal town before we decided to crash at VDE's house until it got lighter. (I was only going 40 the entire (usually 15-minute) drive) Fast forward about an hour of chatting with their mom, and we thought it was a good time to leave.
... we drove right into the heart of another beast. I was going 25 mph, with the wipers going as fast as they could, and I still couldn't see anything because it was raining so hard. Thankfully it didn't last all the way home, but a trip that usually takes about 20 minutes ended up taking 45.
then I fell asleep, and woke up at 11.
joyous day of nothing except royalty work. whee too dang hot to play outside for more than a few minutes; tried biking, but only ended up doing half a mile because the gravel was still really soft from last night and garth was going to die of heat exhaustion because he was keeping pace with me on the bike when it was 90 flipping degrees out.
so I turned in early. tried working on my flowers (something's eating my sunflowers... stare ) but was eaten alive by flies (despite putting on insect repellent) within 15 minutes.
so yeah.
internet is hooked directly to the big computer now, which means no internet on the laptop. gonk oh well.
