3... 2... 1... Write!
That is what my old teacher,at my old school,in my old life would say when she gave us an assignment. Before I had been involved in an experiment that would chance my life forever and make me Mega Freak Zero. Or as the White Coats call me; E10010001110-AVIAN.
I'm not the only one. There are three of us in all. The twins; E1100101001001-PARASITIC and E1100101001000-PARASITIC. We call ourselves Snap,Crackle and Pop,after those famous cereal guys that have creeped me out since birth, and the way we met.
I had just come to the Institute after testing positive for some rare gene that only 0.2 percent of everyone in the world has. They wanted to find out what caused the rare and extremely manipulative mutation. Truth was, they only took the orphans or those who's parents would literally sell their own child for freedom, money,no taxes;well, you get the point and I'm getting off track.
Anyway,I had just come to the incredibly vast space of white walls and creepy shut-ins that wanted to poke and inject me with sh-uhm,stuff that burned in my veins. So naturally I was feeling just a little...terrified? Yes,that word will do just fine. I had taken my seat at the breakfast table, and being as scared as I was, didn't want to eat a thing. The twins, who's names I shall reveal in a moment, sat down with me and their cereal. They are a good 2 years older than me and I could see the experiments had altered them in the strangest ways. (the fact that there was blood replacing the milk in their cereal was a bit of a tip)
They had taken pity on the new girl and her emotional turmoil, pouring me a bowl and letting me add however much milk I desired. I had always loved the sound of the cereal, but every time I looked at the box I couldn't take a bite. So after confessing my creep-factor fear of the little elf-ish men they closed the box and laid it down,to which I happily ate two bowls!
The parasitic twins,Sabastion and Adonis, had taken me under their wings-AKA taught me how to survive the near constant experiments and tests. The first few were agony, the rest were pure, unedited torcher! I was sedated and had fragments removed from my shoulder blades,to which they manipulated with my rare gene to develop a way to graft a set of wings to my back. I really should say they grew wings of my shoulder-blades,but they say the term is graft.
If you think having wings growing out of your shoulderblades could hurt,I give you an A++ for passing that test,if you think learning to fly with them would be amazing. I give you a C-. Flying was one of the hardest parts since my newly developed bone, muscle, joints and nerves were like what a baby bird would have. So for several years it was mostly me getting poked, pricked and needled half to death while I did my best to keep the sore little buggers from getting stiff.
Every morning I would wake on my stomach and get up. Before I would get out of my night clothes I would flap my nearly one foot long wings to loosen them up for the day's regular tests. I would then dress,go to the breakfast room to eat with the twins and then head to the first door in hall 17-B.
Room 158 of Hall 17-B was where I would have my daily blood tests, then on to room 441 in Hall 414-C for daily exersizes and strength and growth tests. From there came measurements,school-like classes and then a sort of recess.
This is where I would meet up with the twins once more and we would get to know each other, needless to say that by the time I was 15 I knew them very well, and they knew me. So well in fact that I once let one of them latch onto my arm to drink after he missed breakfast. The twins were crossed with leetches,in case I hadnt told you already. They have over 300 teeth inside thier mouth. Luckily it didnt hurt because of the toxin-y stuff in his saliva. Unfortunatly though,he had an anti-coagulant and it bled for a full thirty seconds after before stopping.
Uh-oh! I guess I should really put this all away before they turn out the lights on me!
