The next time I came by, I grabbed Salga (without conflict this time) and went to investigate the forest. What I found with my eyes was nothing new, but with my sixth sense, I found out that the moon elves were underground. Using my earth sword, I made a hole in the ground and stepped through it. Being an elf, it only took me a second to adjust to the darkness. The entire moon elf tribe was stuck in this cavern--they had gone into self-induced comas to make it easier to survive. A few had died anyway. Feeling fresh air on their faces, some of them began to wake up. Not knowing what could've happened, I told someone that had woken up to make sure everyone stayed there until I came back, which would be soon.
Salga and I left the cave, and I concealed the entrance, using magic with leafs and twigs to make sure it was convincing. Then I decided I needed to figure out what had happened. I decided to try something with the Hourglass Shield. (Please note, I still do not fully understand my shield's uses, so much of what I do is experimentation to see if something will work. It's main function is freezing time around me, but it can also reverse time (although it takes so much energy) among other things.) Using the shield, I made a window in which I could see the past, which was not at all easy to do! In my view of the past, I saw the moon elves walking into the forest, exploring. They had anxious but determined looks on their faces. Suddenly the ground beneath them turned into a liquid, and they sank through, as if something was slowly pulling them down. Most of them chose then to go into a coma. Those who didn't choked on the mud and died.
With what I saw, it was obvious that someone powerful had buried them purposely. But who? And why?
