“How many of you in this place tonight...
have been through a hard time in a point in your life.
You know, one of those moments
where life throws you an unexpected curveball.
I had one of those moments about 2 ½ years ago
when I got diagnosed with diabetes.
It flipped my whole world upside down.
We were in the middle of a tour when I found out.
About 5months ago, I was having one of those days
when things just won’t go my way.
So I sat down and I wrote this song.
I’ve heard a lot of people recently tell me that my
story has inspired them. To all of you, I wanna say
thank you because you, were my inspiration.
Don’t ever give up hope.
And I know there are some of you out there tonight
who could use a little bit of hope, could use a friend.
Well you’re not alone.
A young girl today, who was diagnosed with diabetes on July 1st,
she had tears in her eyes when she told me that it was hard.
Fourteen days in, gotta be hard.
But she didn’t give up hope.
So you shouldn’t either.
This song is for every broken heart, for every lost dream,
for every high and for every low,
and for every person who has ever felt alone.
And tonight, this song...this songs for you.
Now here’s what I want you to do;
I want you to clap your hands, there you go.
And I want you to sing this out as loud as you can,
with all of your heart, and with all of your soul.
(Ryan could you join me)
Sing it!
But you don’t know what you’ve got, till it’s gone
And you don’t know what its like to feel so low
And every time you smile, you laugh, you glow
You don’t even know, no, no
Sing it!
But you don’t know what you’ve got, till its gone
And you don’t know what its like to feel so low
(just you)
And every time you smile, you laugh, you glow
You don’t even know, no, no
(2, 3)
But you don’t know what you’ve got, till its gone
And you don’t know what its like to feel so low, yeah
And every time you smile, you laugh, you glow
You don’t even know, yeah, ohh
And I’m here to tell you
That it hasn’t stopped me yet.”
