So my baachan(grandmother) died on saturday morning the same day as the Obon festival which is to honor your ancestors so very appropriate I'd say. I didn'tknow her all that well and resent that fact, wishing I knew her better or spent more time with her but wasn't given the opprotunity because of my dad and his bad relationship with his mother and brother.
It was always the joke that she was suppose to out live each of us by at least 3 generations, or forever. My older brother said, "yeah it's too bad baachan died" and I said "yeah she was suppose to live forever". He wants to resurrect her so she can make all of the good food she use to make when she was more mobile. Pecan pie, ozoni and other really good asian food.
Well we have paid our respect for you baachan and will miss you greatly, even though we would always joke around about you. We still will for you gave us some great stories to remember you by.
