So, a good friend from high school recently tells me she's pregnant. She was 13 weeks when she found out so her and I were both pretty surprised. I was depressed about it for about 2 days and then I decided it was time to "suck it up" and get to knitting. She doesn't know if it's a boy or a girl yet and I knew I wanted to get started right away so I decided to make her a blanket in neutral colors. When she finds out the gender, I'll make her some more items in gender specific colors. I took pictures at three points during the process. I started knitting on April 1st. I finished it today. There were days that I didn't work on it at all and if I hadn't been so lazy about it, I would have been done sooner :3
Each row consists of 154 stitches across. Yikes, I know. gonk
On the first day, I'd gotten quite a bit done Click on the thumbnails to see larger versions of the pictures
Here's an up close shot of the detail of the stitch pattern

I went on knitting and knitting. I felt like I'd never get this dang thing done, but the pattern was simple and repetitive enough that I could do it from memory and while watching TV, so that helped

The last picture shows the blanket all finished except for weaving in the ends, which I HATE. I'm about halfway done doing that as of this journal entry. I'll probably edit it to add in a picture of the blankie with woven in ends. I really hope my friend likes this. She's not expecting it, so she will be so surprised. I put a lot of work and love into it smile
