Terra's Fun Stuff
I love anime, and magna, and movies, and writing, and drawing, and cheese. So I decided why not group all the things I like together, well without the cheese, and I came up with the idea of writting reviews. So here it is, have fun, enjoy.

Some anime are great, like Berserk! Some... not so great, like Naruto. Then you have anime that lead you up and then... kinda fall flat. Pandora Hearts is in that third category.
The anime is decent. From the four chapters I have read of the manga it fallows the story quite close. For the rest of the manga I haven't read... well obviously I have no clue. Now, I never really had the problem of comparing anime and manga to one another. Because usually the anime is decent enough that I don't have to go running to the manga for every little detail. So... you can usually tell something is up when I start talking about the manga.
I'll start off by telling you what made me fall in love with Pandora Hearts. The characters. They all have great personalities. They're fun, spicy, angsty, and everything in between. You have Oz, the 'broken' guy. He acts normal enough, smiles, but he kinda lacks a 'normal' reaction. You have Gilbert who is adorable! He's scared of cats, and... well he's shy, submissive, and yeah. You have the loyal, but angsty Raven. He's secretive, mysterious, and hot. He tries to act cold some times but it just doesn't work. You have Break who in my opinion MAKES the anime. He is hot, has a dark past, is playful, teasing, and somewhat mean. And you have cute, sweet little Sharon. She's kind hearted, friendly, but scary when she's mad. And you have the kinda crazy Alice who has amnesia, she thinks she's all high and mighty and such.
The plot is good. It leads up, has drama, twists, some unexpected things, some very expected things. And a lot of humour, tears, and the whole shebang. The art is decent, the music is really nice.
Now for the bad. And there's a fair bit of bad:
First problem is, well it's a problem for me. The whole time jumping bit in the beginning of episode one. You're shown a scene that happens way later in the episode at the very start. Then you're jumped back to before it happens and see all the events that lead to this point. It's not a particularly bad thing. Just never really done well. The second is the cliched past of the main character. I don't know how many time's a kid's had one or both parents dead, and hated by the remaining parent, or foster parents. It's a little over used.
The anime is a weirded out version of Alice in Wonderland as well. Not that that's aweful... but it's over done! I can't even count how many Alice in Woderland sequels, rip offs, spin offs, movies, tv shows, stories, anime, manga! I've seen. It's frustrating! Even if it is something different, it's still annoying.
Now my biggest problem is... the anime itself. I mentioned how it had a decent plot, right? Well... that's only for a time. They build up question after question. Who is Alice? Why does she look like the Will of the Abyss? What is the connection between Oz and Alice? Why is OZ of all people so important? Why did Vincent do what he did? So on and so forth. And this is great. You'll sit there watching episode after episode waiting to see Alice get her memories back and find out what happened 100 years ago (which seems to be where EVERYTHING started) then you reach episode 26! And you're sitting there, waiting for something to happen, some big thing that will help you understand. And then BANG it's the end of the episode and they're agreeing that they need to look for Alice's memories, to find out the truth about the past, and guess what! As of yet!!!! No sequel! WOOT!
Anyway final thoughts. Did I like it? Yes! Did I laugh? Yes. Did it draw me to the characters? Some. Was the plot good, and pulled off in a decent way? Yup. Would I recommend it? No. If you're interested in Pandora Hearts go read the manga. I know I'm sure as hell going to finish it. Over all rating? 5/10. Good but could've been a lot better. Should've been longer and leaves you waiting for a sequel.
