Okay. This is really ticking me off; recently when I went online, I heard about some rants relating to newer Vocaloids and perhaps some others. Let me clarify based on what I know and what I think may need clarification. And also, please for the vocaloids' sake, don't be a pack of rabit Miku fanatics(Don't claim that Miku's the first, when she isn't) it makes you look like a complete fool compared to those that do know, and even if you like Miku no matter what the other Vocaloids do, don't bash on other Vocaloids just because they are new or "unpopular". Heck if you ask for my personal opinion, I'd say that I prefer some of those other vocaloids over Miku, not just in fan-interpretted personality, but also, I don't mean offense, but I don't exactly like Miku. I'm sorry, but I'm going to in this journal entry make clarifications about the official Vocaloids as I find any to make clarifications and also point out little extra bits of information.
(Source used to gather some of the information: Vocaloid Wiki <--- Yes, I think that site is accurate enough for some of the information mentioned.)
Also: if you don't think the site is accurate, just ask other people who know more than I do of Vocaloids and I'm sure most of the information I mention here will be confirmed.
I take no credit for the information, I'm just presenting some of the facts. Also, if there is extra information you find, just comment in this entry and I will add it to the information along with the username, if it's true enough, so no trying to call Leon an UTAU or anything obviously incorrect like that.
LEON: he's the real FIRST male vocaloid, released on the same day as LOLA. English Vocaloid.
LOLA: she's the real FIRST female vocaloid, released on the same day as LEON. English Vocaloid.
Miriam: she's the second vocaloid release, but third made, since leon and lola were released at the same time.
Meiko: Meiko was Crypton's first Vocaloid, and the first Japanese Vocaloid.
Kaito: First Japanese male vocaloid, but the first commercial failure, and the last Vocaloid before the Vocaloid2 engine came about
Sweet Ann: PowerFx's first Vocaloid, and the first Vocaloid2, released before Miku. English Vocaloid
Hatsune Miku: she's the vocaloid that made Vocaloid popular, but her "first" position was actually Crypton's first Vocaloid2(yes, Vocaloid2, not Vocaloid)
Rin/Len Kagamine: Len was the first male Vocaloid2, but he and Rin were released on the same time. Relationship between the two varies. (I know this may not be true, but I personally feel like Rin sometimes is like a Miku clone in voice)
Prima: First Zero-G vocaloid2(Zero-G made Leon, Lola, and Miriam). She was made for opera.
Gakupo Kamui: At least he's the only one that I don't think needs any clarifications, thank goodness, but if any come, I'll update the entry with new information.
Luka Megurine: She's the first Bilingual vocaloid to be made
Gumi: I don't think she needs clarifications, except that she and Sonika aren't clones of each other.
Sonika: NOT Gumi's clone
SF-A2 Miki: one of three of AH-Software's first releases(along with Yuki and Kiyoteru, but they weren't bundled together like Rin/Len if I'm not mistaken), she's NOT a clone of Miku
Yuki Kaai: first Vocaloid to use a child's voice, another of AH-Software's first releases(along with Miki and Kiyoteru), considered to be Kiyoteru's student
Hiyama Kiyoteru: the third of AH-Software's first Vocaloids to be released at the same time(other two being Miki and Yuki), considered to be Yuki's teacher, NOT Kaito's clone
Big-Al: PowerFx's first male vocaloid, and the one that began the joke of male vocaloids arriving late
Tonio: like Prima, he is specialized for opera, however, if Tonio was released on time instead of delayed, would the joke that begun with Big-Al not have happened?
Lily: NOT a Luka clone, NOT a Rin clone
VY1 Mizki: Genderless, it doesn't have an official design to allow for imagination, but the voice is feminine, also, Mizki is not a clone of anyone, nor is it a mesh of the other vocaloid females, if it sounds like any other vocaloid, most likely either the one who made it either tried to make it sound like the other vocaloids, did not do a good enough job of making it sound unique, or the listener needs to clear their ears and/or hear enough clips where Mizki sounds unique.
Gachapoid: first franchise based vocaloid released, but the second to be announced. (I don't know if I'm too fond of this one, but unlike some, I don't go and rant about it, I just let those who like and/or use him do so, I'm not complaining, besides, at least Gachapoid has a male voice, there were so many female vocaloids compared to males)
Iroha Nekomura: First franchise based Vocaloid announced, but the second to be released, she's not a Luka clone.
Piko Utatane: I doubt the ones who designed his outfit meant for him to be cloning Miki's outfit if his design clones Miki at all.
VY2: if it can be considered "male" then it's continuing the joke that Big-Al and Tonio started, and probably the first Japanese Vocaloid to be caught in it(I'm not hearing anyone mentioning anything about Piko being late)
I might also make a post for clarifications on fanmades and UTAUloids in general, but in order to not confuse the official Vocaloid's for them, all that will be in a seperate post.
