But before I get to the spoilers, I'd better put in some space-fillers.
It's looking like I'm not going to come anywhere near the 500 mile goal that I made at the beginning of the year. I'm cool with that. Currently I have almost 200 miles and that is 200 miles that I wouldn't have gone otherwise. If I make it halfway then I'll be pleased. Jason got me the Disney Dance Mix for my birthday, so I should have some extra incentive to make it. I can't wait to hear the dance remix of It's a Small World. 0_o I think that song induces psychosis, so if I go on a murderous rampage it's all Jason's fault.
Do not worry if you are afraid you have missed your chance to shower me with gifts! My birthday isn't until the 24th and you still have plenty of time to get me many goodies. (e_lochinvar) Please do not have stress. I am very forgiving and will accept gifts year round.
I don't have time to update my site this week either. -_- My mom is coming for a visit this weekend and I really need to get that sticker that has an 8 on it off my car's windshield before she thinks that I am not taking care of the business. And naturally getting that taken care of means that I'll have to get the taillight and blinkers fixed as well. BLEH! Who has time for this? All of my precious slacking time is being used up and this is my birthday month! Hmph!
I don't think I mentioned how much fun I had when Kathy came to visit last week. It was a blast! We went to the Halloween Block Party on Oaklawn, Dallas Comic Con, B.B. King/Bobby Blue Bland concert, Half Price Books, Half Price CDs, dancing, ScreamsPark, and just hung out talking and laughing.
The concert was great. Unfortunately our tickets were for seats behind him and we really couldn't hear what he was singing, but the band sounded great and it was fun. For free, I am not going to complain at all. We had a wonderful time and it was great to be able to get all dressed up. We went to buy all the girly things and I got my hair cut before we went. I felt like such a girl! It was the best.
So yeah, about the Matrix. Well, first things first. Jason and I were going to see the 10am showing Wednesday so I knew I'd have to set the alarm. Dumb alarm. Well, it was set, but unfortunately it was never turned on.
...
But, that is alright because at 7am when I had it set to go off, Alan Rickman snuggled up against me and whispered in my ear with his velvet voice telling me to wake up.
sigh...
Alright, so it was really my dog snuggling, but I did hear Alan Rickman! See, I'd put these sounds on my computer. I only have one for startup, shutdown, and for error messages. I hate that annoying BONG! whenever the computer has an error, so I replaced it with something much more pleasant. So when my computer decided that the C drive was low on memory at 7am, Alan Rickman whispered, "You shine like the sun, m'lady..." See? Much more pleasant.
Normally something on that level wouldn't have woken me up, but it was just loud enough that it registered in my brain. I wasn't having that dream so I knew I wasn't dreaming, but I knew that I heard him. It was very bizarre trying to figure out what was going on. It made my brain work just enough that figuring it out was what really woke me up.
So, um, yeah...
Anyway, onto the Matrix spoilers! It was cool. I liked it better than the second one, because the second one left me going huh? and I hate when a movie makes me feel dumb. -_- But that's not as bad as when a comic book does that. Those damn Masamune Shirow comics always leave me with question marks floating over my head. The blasted "notes" in the back are almost as long as the actual comic. What does that have to do with anything? I don't know, I'm babbling now.
I really liked the characters in The Matrix. That is my favorite part of any story, even moreso than plot. If there are interesting characters, I really don't care what the movie or book is about. I guess that makes me pretty shallow-minded. Oh well, I can live with that.
I really liked all of the characters in The Matrix. Their personalities were all so interesting to me. Agent Smith was wicked cool, the interaction between Neo and Trinity was beautiful, everyone down to the family Neo meets in the train station was just wonderful in this movie. Every character seemed so developed even if you didn't learn much about them, like Seraph and the Trainman. It didn't leave you feeling as if something was left out, but more that you wanted to know more. It was as if there was an entire history for each character that was present, but not shown. There wasn't a single character that felt unnecessary. The characters are what drew me in completely.
The Frenchman's wife and Link's lady were froggin' gorgeous. I can't remember either of their names, but they are both just really beautiful ladies. My boss said this movie was heavy into women's strength, but I didn't even notice it when I watched it. It just seemed like everyone knew what needed to be done and did it. Man or woman, everyone was cool.
I think the explanation for the new look of the Oracle was very well done. I almost cried when Trinity died. Battle scenes, excellent. Niobe's piloting skills, awesome. This movie is definitely going on my wishlist as soon as it comes out to DVD. It completed the trilogy well, while still leaving it open to the imagination.
I love well-written characters.
