no srsly, that word just keeps going through my head... and about four different songs that have that word in it...
FACT: the Green Day album American Idiot is actually a story about the life of a character called the Jesus of Suburbia. Pretty much he wants more to life, so he runs away, meets peeps and tries drugs, peeps die, he breaks up w/ a chick he met, he goes back home and lives a life of nothing.

went to an awesome New Years party at Katie's house (after having J&K over that afternoon for some When They Cry, psych homework, and an epic game of chess whist i texted Nick apologizing that he couldn't find our place... ._. ), did such awesomeness as chicken alfredo supper, watching Just Dance 2 on Wii, opening a wonderful gift from Josie (that I can use!! whee zomg the barrettes and bobby pins I'm thinking of for prom (because the barrettes are perfect for the design i have in mind... =o), and PURPLE NAILPOLISH WINS. x] ), cookies making w/ a flour fight beforehand, and watching The Backup Plan until like 3 in the morning and getting up at 9 for pancakes and calling mother and finding out i was forbid from coming home until noon lol. yay minnesota blizzards... I made it home w/o any difficulty, but once I got on gravel I was glad for 4-wheel drive on the suburban...
wow... how much of a change is this from last year?! At this time last year, I was feeling miserable because I felt so hopeless about school, friends, and the whole bit. My hair was a blonde shag, and I wasn't that good with complete strangers.... or even my friends, for that matter. I was a nervous, excited wreck for the new year because of all of the opportunities I had; and as the year progressed, I did even more than I could possibly imagine. This past year I have been many places, met many new people, and learned SO MUCH about everything!
Today, my hair is freshly dyed to symbolize these changes. I have friends today that I love that I didn't have a year ago. I have changed my entire view on humanity, and today I can do stuff (like dance (& not give a crap about what people think about it lol) and make a good convo w/ a stranger!) that I couldn't do before.
amazing what a year can do, right?
so at this point, I look to the future. Seniors, this is our year. Our lives will change forever in 2011. This year will hold our final high school memories, our graduation from our small-town school, our last summer of high school before college starts. We'll meet many new people this year, and I'm sure some of us will be falling in and out of love before the ball drops in NYC again. Our dreams will be realized, in part, and everything that we've worked so hard for will finally pay off.
This is our year.
