Hello all, to the first of my ramblings. Now, I usually don't like to talk about myself, but I shall now, just so you know a little bit about me. 1. I love the color yellow. 2. I am a huge fan of Sonic the Hedgehog (comics), Soul Eater, and role playing. 3. I am an avid reader who's always looking for a good read. 4. I love sweets~!
So, yes. Recently (this morning) I finished this wonderful book called 'The Monstrumologist' by Rick Yancey. It was single handedly on of the most creepiest books I've ever read. I read it last year, but I couldn't finish it because I was so afraid the Anthropophagi would jump out of the trees and eat me. I told my stepmother about this and she thought I was quite childish. "Do we have to read this in broad daylight so you don't get scared?" She'd asked me. "Yes," I answered. The next day I brought the book home and she read it in less than a week. "-Name-. you have to read this book." She said. "Uh-uh." I replied. "No, you HAVE to read this book." "Okay." So, I read it, and I love it!
Sure, people get disemboweled and thrown across walls, but what had bothered me the first time was the thought that they could in fact come over to where we were in America. It definitely caused me much anguish regarding my walk up to school. Mainly, at my mother's where there are no lights at all, and a huge row of pine trees along the side of the road where the monster's could've been hiding.
Now, I have faced my fears and I am no longer afraid of the monsters, as I know that they were all killed at the end of the book (but at what costs? Heheheh...).
Some of you may now be thinking, 'Okay, this is all well and good, but why the heck were you scared in the first place?' Well, you see, I have a very overactive imagination within my oh so tiny little mind, which makes me think that things that aren't real, are. For example, I am terrified of velociraptors, and I know they aren't real. Yet, my mind still goes on 'Fright Overload' when I walk into a really dark room. My mind immediately assumes that there is a human eating monster who will come out from the shadows and swallow me whole.
So, I feel that this sufficiently covers a nice little ramble. But now, to those of you who have read this far, I have a quest that you must perform for me. Quest:I want you to tell me about a strange, freaky book that you've read, or of a fear that you've always had and tell me about them.
Please go along with my antics and I believe you will enjoy my journaling. Signed, Dojang
