1. Supernatural Existence
Assignment - Paranoia 101
Well this format certainly is drab. Frankly though, coming to that conclusion is too easy to even bother dawdling in it.
I'm immediately accosted by how pronounced, off-color and wig-like the hairline appears to be against this particular skin and it doesn't get better from there. The striking almond slant of the eye becomes comical in the depression of the perfectly circular eye-socket. The eye-brows appears glue to the eye-lids, and we haven't even breached the assignment's mug.
There is no prevailing direction of movement. The swirl of the anima adamantea dictates a 45* angle direction of movement planar to the avatar itself, whereas the spirit baubles are proceeding directly upwards as if there is no angular sense of motion. The hair is slightly non-planar in its motion, in the sense it recedes into the background as if it were being blown directly in the face.
I suppose the assignment is supernatural, in the sense the laws of physics don't seem to apply. I imagine the laws of good taste, were taken with a grain of salt as well.

2. Insanity Dread
Assignment - Volunteer Work - Autopsy Lab
The ears precede the hairline and breach through the blades of hair instead of in between. It is also too saturated, and lacks the prevailing texture of charcoal. The white stripes of the face lack precision, the eyes are indistinct, the skin is too saturated.Delete | Report As Spam
The scythe disrupts the primary, downward vector. The scarf muddles the details of the weapon's forward pommel, making it awkwardly indistinct. The weapon's beak is too bright for a peripheral detail.
The shoes pop out too much. It does not the image of insanity make.
...Well then again, paying out the wazoo for super-fab shoes is a little out there.
Verdict: 2/10.

3. Yellowstone Park
Assignment - Parks and Recreations Essay
The color palette is fresh and likable, with very finite matching details which not only create an effective color palette but also suit the theme - the hat emblem matches the badge. The avatar is very linear with solid angles and few curves, creating a good consistency. The pants are little too chalky, however, compared to the felt persuasion of the rest of her clothes.
The face is brilliantly effective at ruining the avatar completely. The expression not only in direct opposition of the narrative, but is stylistically unsuited for the realism of the avatar and the professionalism of the outfit. It also gives the assignment two sets of eyebrows, which I've been informed is a little peculiar in most societies.
The bear adds very little, aside from the narrative. It overwhelms the avatar and distracts from what is otherwise a commendable outfit. The end result is a lovely avatar, with unforgivable faults.
Verdict: 5/10.

4. Techno Turbulence
Assignment - Electric Systems
The head is somewhat cluttered by its peppering of unnecessary blue accessories, and somewhat autonomic in its item selection. The goggles exhibit an amount of silver that the belt buckle and knife to not compensate.
And while the distinct colors of the avatar have a certain freshness to them this ingenuity is inhibited by the plaster cast of black from which it is suspended. The lime green barely breeches with so much neutral space.
The water swirl dominates the peripheral space. Thus, while there is some sense of even distribution in the regions of the body, it is non-existent in the perimeter of the avatar.
Verdict: 5/10.

5. Ode to She
Assignment - Mesopotamian Theology
I think the most fascinating part of this avatar is presence of green roughage around the entire perimeter of the avatar, with accents of it in the body itself. Granted, this perimeter has some weak points around the head, especially at the right (the viewer's right) cheek and the apex of the head. The avatar would have benefiting tremendously from sealing these breaches not only in the creation of a perfect perimeter, but in blotting out some of the yellow and angelic blue, which is a little too powerful up at the top.
The blacks seem a little heavy handed, and the black of the flower scarf is especially distracting (albeit a necessary evil to add that flower). The wine accents, on the other hand, are spectacular, right down to the ball, but I feel the lips might be too harsh in contrast with the skin. As for the angelic blues, they're a little peripheral and pushed to the right; a minute accent in the groin region would have really tied them together. Overall though, I understand their incorporation.

Assignment - Criminal Justice
The body is paper thin compared to the head, and the gold accents are incredibly autonomic. The slight persuasion of cream would be likable if it wasn't doused in compensatory black and gold matching.
Verdict: 3/10.

Assignment - Chem 101
Learning avatars has to start somewhere, and in the start, you play with the safe and friendly items, before moving onto the pressing matters. Gotta mix that vinegar and baking soda, before you go ******** around with hydrochloric acid and lye.
The neck line and arms are muddled with details, most of which is autonomous and uninteresting gold matching. The billows of the fabric in the mid and lower section would likely be aesthetically pleasing if they were not sheered to oblivion by the overwhelming portal in the background. The deep aqua matching selections lose their poignancy with each passing day to the point they're so dull, they couldn't cut raw sodium.
But hey, the jewel on that hat is kind of cute.
Verdict: 2/10.

8. The Wastelander
Assignment - American History
The matching sort of falls apart the more I examine it. The black stripes are almost entirely on the bottom and heavy to the right. The eye, watch, and belt buckle, consequently, pull the golds heavily to the left. The pants are too chalky unsaturated compared to the rest of the avatar, with its bright, pronounced items.
The caricature of the avatar is there, but it doesn't shine out beyond the matching focus, and the matching is very questionable.
Verdict: 5/10.

Assignment - Biololigy
I'm not certain, "Biodiversity: everything's there, very little of it is necessary," is the message you want to be sending.
The face lacks detail, and the hair is fully and singular compared to the demanding detail orientation to which the assignment endeavored. The companions circulate the avatar with very little symmetry or cohesion.
Ultimately, this genre is just incredibly tacky. It supplements precision and tact by simply overwhelming the viewer. It is the very definition of sophistry, in avatar form.
Verdict: 1/10.

Assignment - Farm Practicum
The leaves are erroneous. The setting suggests there is no source of fresh leaves, on the grounds the only woody foliage is long since dead, let alone the fact they follow an arch of movement in direct contrast to that of the prevailing wind.
Speaking of the prevailing wind, why is it ascending? Take-off would displace air in a downward direction, blasting debris to the ground. And why is there fog? A grassland would not have such a high humidity.
Now of course, astute adherence to the laws of nature should not be the objective qualities upon which we judge an avatar. But when there are no objective qualities, well, you gotta find something, I suppose.
Verdict: 1/10
