twasn't all too long ago i rant down the last entry. how'd i get back to this place again? whatever.
anyhoo, just decided to do another little band-update. i got a bit of extra stuffs to throw in here^^
so, in no particular oder (or order, as i was trying to type, but instead typoed) (alphabetical), here be the bands hanging ut upon meh cellular device^^
affie^^ (tis reall AFI. y'all's've heard of them before. et if you haven't, that rock you live under ain't very nice-looking. i hear lifes are nice^^)
family force 5: always a good start for those trying to get into heavier music, but still need to work up to there. et if you don't want to, they's still pretty awesome^^ grab the cd dance or die if you want a more pop-like sound, business up front party in the back if you want a more rock-like sound (i'd grab the latter if i were you)
kronicles: sehr kuhl (what the crap!?! i thought i hated german!). they's a pretty new band, but they already have a cd out (tis self-titled for those who are curious). they's alternative, but each of the songs are basically hanging out with their own genre, so you can enjoy them no matter which part of the musical spectrum you enjoy hanging out in. except (c)rap. (that's going to be how i refer to it from now on) they don't have any (c)rap, but they do have quite a bit more of the softer sounds for those with sensitive ears
showbread: this band don't hang out under any genre, but they ain't alternative, either. the genre they label themselves under that shows up in computers is pop, but it's anything than that. they prefer the term raw rock, though some of their songs could be labeled screamo, hard rock, soft rock, metal, whatever. i have 3 of 5 of their cd's. if you want to first get nicely introduced to them, i suggest "the age of reptiles" first. then "the fear of god", the two cd's i don't have: "anorexia nervosa", then "no sir, nihilism is not practical". apparently they may or may not have a new cd. i'm rather curious about it, so i'm trying to investigate! (shh!)
the almost: this band's lead singer was the drummer of underoath, but the band ain't anywhere close to underoath's sound. they have more of a classic rock to country sound in some songs, but there are slight shadows hanging out in a few songs where you can tell that it did come from a heavy metal band (nothing too major, just more of a harder rock sound). if you don't like any of the other bands i've been talking about, then i really suggest these guys. i recommend their second album, "monster monster" more than "southern weather", but both are good. i just recommend the former because there's more sense in the song structure than the other.
the devil wears prada: my main obsession as of late! i've actually been listening to them while writing this. screamo, death metal, metalcore, hardcore, i don't know. i've been listening to all the cd's they have out currently (i'm a pretty newish fan to them, just so you know), and my order of favoritism is currently "plagues", "with roots above and branches below", "dear love, a beautiful discord", and "patterns of a horizon". they also have another called "zombie ep", but i haven't been listening to it so much. so far i like it pretty well. i'm just waiting until it's not an ep anymore. what does ep even stand for?
underoath: we're finally here! the very end! (not really. i kinda skipped skillet because i hardly ever listen to them. now it's the end!) i actually got an underoath shirt from hot topic! i kinda wanted a devil wears prada shirt as well, but they were kinda gruesome... it's too bad aaron gillespie left it to lead sing for the almost, but i'll still support them. their newest cd'll be coming out this november. so, i have all the cd's that have spencer chamberlain lead singing. they's also like a really heavy metal, but kinda a couple levels below the devil wears prada on the rock-out-o-meter. they also have a couple of "breather" songs (songs with barely any screaming, but there's still some) for those who are getting tired. i wonder what underoath sounded like with that one dallas dude lead singing... *shrug* sorry if this thing here really sucked. i'm getting tired, and it's hard to talk about one heavy metal band when your listening to another at the time. anyhoo, good, fun songs. "lost in the sound of seperation"'s really cool, because it'll give you a bit of a claustrophobic feeling. "define the great line"'s a good classic-ish heavy metal sound, and "they're only chasing saftey"'s got a bit more of a happier, colorful sound.
