Fluffy?

"Now what am I going to do with the two of you since little Annamarie went and killed my employers?"

< How about I snap your neck!? > Flan said, regaining enough strength to surge to her feet and grab Zachary's head.

"How about not!" Zachary said, using his powers to send Flan flying backwards into a tree.

"MOTHER!" Annamarie exclaimed as Flan slammed into the tree and was impaled on a branch. Glaring at Zachary, who's back was towards her, Annamarie ran at him. Leaping into the air, Annamarie spun around and kicked Zachary in the head. [1]

Landing, Annamarie walked up to the semi conscious Zachary. Lifting her foot to crush his head under it, Annamarie growled, "b*****d! I'm going to--"

There was a flash of light and Annamarie suddenly found herself standing on all fours and Zachary was gone--yet Flan was still pinned to a tree. Looking down at her feet, Annamarie was surprised to see she had four paws and they were covered in silken black fur. Opening her mouth to say something, Annamarie was further surprised by the fact she began to yip.

Fang Trial

Snarling, Faolan attacked Wolf. Rearing up, Wolf used his weight to overbear Faolan. When Wolf turned away, Faolan--who was clearly beaten in the laws of the wolf pack--snarled and attempted to attack Wolf while his guard was down. Turning, Wolf used his shoulder to flip Faolan over him. With a quick move, Wolf bit through Faolan's jugular.

Sitting back on his haunches, Wolf howled in victory. Almost instantly, the other wolves howled in response to accept him as their Alphamale.

Winding down his howl, Wolf looked at Tayla. "I need to take my mate to the pack reikis. [2] Please watch over Larkin. Larkin, stay here with Tayla."

"Okay," Larkin said as Wolf picked up Shalimar and headed deeper into the forest accompanied by two wolf guards.

"So you're my tanaya," [3] Tayla said, looking Larkin over. "Hopefully you aren't like your tai, [4] Faolan."

"Um, okay," Larkin said. "I'm sorry, I don't know the terminology of the pack. I grew up in another timeline far away from the pack and haven't had much to say to my father."

Someone's Coming

Once she was pulled through the other end of the portal, Xangord was thrown to the ground. As her powers were muted, Xangord flexed and slowly climbed to her feet. "I don't have time to play with you, Vexen."

"It wasn't Vexen who put the dampening device on you nor pulled you through."

Xangord opened her eyes and turned to face the owner of the voice.

"Though I did give the order to Chixalam to do so," Vexen said, gesturing at the other.

Narrowing her eyes, Xangord tilted her head. "Is that--?"

"Yes," Vexen said. "Like what I've done with him."

Xangord sighed. "Let me guess, you attempted a memory wipe and planted one of these dampeners on him?"

"No one ever said you were completely stupid," Vexen grinned.

"And no one ever said you ever fully tested me," Xangord said as smoke tendrils began to emit from her body. "My entire family goes about with our powers locked down to about twenty-thirty percent capacity--we do it to protect lesser creatures from being affected by the sheer strength of our mana, and to keep HER locked away."

"What are you talking about?" Vexen asked.

Picking Dragon up and tucking her beneath her arm, Nogard ran back to Dragon's room where they had left Riku and Xangord. They had just reached the room when Riku blasted through the doors. Dropping Dragon unceremoniously next to Riku, Nogard peered into the room in time to see a portal close.

"You need to take us to her," Nogard said, turning back to Riku as her hair flames began to intensify. "Otherwise things are going to become rather unpretty."

"Wh-What?" Riku asked, somewhat dazed from flying headfirst through an oak door.

"Create a portal to Xangord for us and just stay out of the way," Dragon said as her hair began to drip water. "SHE'LL take care of everything."
