"Welcome, welcome… It took some time to gather you all here today... I pray my efforts wont be in vain. Now I'm gonna cut to the chase... i don't have time to do otherwise so listen and listen well. The information I'm about to give you is classified. After you have been given all the necessary information you will be allotted a five minute period in which to decide your fate. Don’t waste it. Let’s begin shall we?
Welcome to Aegis. We are an organization that has silently been working to bring back the natural order of things. Silent…until now that is. As we speak the government is working to launch a project that we have spent years working on. Perfecting. Perhaps we waited too long… One of our own has sold us out to the government taking all our research with him. Thanks to this little... mishap... we are forced to move forward with our plans before we are eradicated, before it’s too late. I wish I had more time to explain things, but unfortunately I don’t. It’s dire I only give you the necessities.
With that being said… This is project Sol. Thanks to all the advancements in technology over the years we have found a way to create the ultimate weapon. A weapon in the form or a living being, properly named, Sol’s. Sol’s are humanoid creatures made from a shard of a human’s soul. They are very complex things. They are mostly human, the only exception being a small portion of the heart which we had to alter in order to create a stable environment for your soul to reside in. Because they are made from part of a human soul, one will not be able to travel very far without its host. The closer the host and the Sol are, the deeper the bond is, the further they can travel without the other. The farthest we have recorded a Sol being able to be away from their host is a few hundred feet if that. Should the host or their Sol travel outside of the available distance both will experience excruciating pain which will only increase with distance until eventually you die. Keep this in mind… it’s very important… if the host dies then the Sol dies and vice versa. One cannot exist without the other.
Sol’s have a rather fast (never immediate) recovery time due to a heightened metabolism. For example, a wound that would take the normal human a week to recover from would take a Sol a mere day. However, this increased metabolism rate also means that they require more food-- so that'll be a bit out of your budget. Yes, you must feed them. The plus side to this is that-unless you never feed them-the Sol will always be in shape. It is near impossible to have one be overweight. Their main worry is becoming underweight. Despite being created from part of a humans soul, Sol’s can take on any appearance -- any gender, any ethnicity, and any personality. In fact it’s very rare for a Sol to look anything like their Host.
Now onto the fun stuff… Each Sol has one special ability given to them… yes, you heard correctly, one. It is impossible, in fact, it’s rather inhumane to try and embed more. It would overload their genetic code and that would be a massive waste of my time and your DNA. Now although the Hosts appearance does not decide the Sol’s they do decide the ability… to an extent anyway. It’s based off of the Hosts soul. I have nothing to do with it. Also, no two Sol’s have the same ability. I’ve seen shape shifters, elemental control, and many more. Like I said though, it all depends on the Hosts soul. All Sol’s have the ability to be stealthy, dexterous and adept with weapons.
And before you can ask and I do get asked this a lot… I have no idea if the Sol’s can mate, or love. I didn’t make them to do that. They were made to kill. I will say that they always surprise me… I didn’t create them to have personalities but they all do – each more different then the next. So I guess I do believe it’s possible for them to love… Although…how messed up would you have to be to do something like that? I mean, really.
With all that being said I will give you exactly five minutes to make your decision. Time is of the essence and unfortunately we don’t have a lot of it. This is your one and only chance to do something useful with your life. You can join us and fight for humanities sake, or you can walk away and watch humanity wither away into nothing. The choice is ultimately yours. Fate is what you make it…"
