The news of Zero's death had Leech lost in his own head. The world world was instantly tuned out as dispare enveloped him like a shadow. The shock had made him passout. The members of his squad rushed to him, when they had made sure he was not physically injured they tried to wake him. They tried many different thing, from shaking to splashing him with water, but nothing worked. Soon they just laid him on his cot and decided to let him come around in his own time. Inside his mind Leech slowly thought back to the first memory. He young, about seven years old to anyone that looked at him, but Leech had always looked much younger than he was. He remembered waking on a beach in the shadow of a cliff, around sunset. He wore a plain white shirt, a pair of brown, ragged pants, and he had no shoes. He had sat there for many hours trying in vain to recall his name, where he was, and how he got there. The only objects he had with him when he woke were a large black cloak, a broadsword with a black and red hilt with a shimmering crimson gem in the center of the guard, and a sizable pouch of red capsules with a note that read simply if hungry take one. After realizing he wasn't going to remember he decided to be happy just to be alive. He decided the best thing to do would be to leave the coastline and try to find a home for the rest of the night. He gathered a few strands of seaweed and made a strap to hold the sword on his back, did the same to attach the pouch to a belt loop, and folded the cloak and draped it over his arm. By this that time the moon was out, it was a full moon and Leech had no problem seeing as he walked away from the water. Not far from the sand he found a dirt road. He hadn't walked too far before he caught sight of a small village, surrounded by trees and small fences. As Leech got closer to the village he started to think it would be rude for him to wake someone that late at night, so he sat underneath a tree a few yards away from the first house he came to. He felt safer knowing he wasn't alone and that was enough for him. He wrapped the cloak around him and prepared to sleep, but before he was completely asleep he heard a lady scream, but it was quickly silenced. It sent an icy chill down his back when he realized that the lady would have had to be killed to fall silent so quickly. A few moments latter Leech's curiosity overcame his fear he stood and crept a quietly as he could to the house. He noticed a small light coming from the back of the house, so he pressed his back to the house's outside wall and slowly moved along it. When he got to the corner he took a peak around it. Leech was surprised to see only a lantern hanging from a tree limb, and the body of a middle aged woman lying on the ground. He rushed to her hoping she was still alive and he could help, but when he knelt down he saw a knife sticking out of her throat. The only thing he could think of at that point was running away. He knew, despite being young, he was a stranger that showed up, out of nowhere, in the middle of the night. The people of the village would think he had killed her, and he had no evidence to his innocence. He stood to flea, but as he did he heard a sound behind him in the trees. When he turned to see what had made it something hit him hard in the head, and he fell to the ground on his face. He tried to get up but something crashed into his back and forced him down again. Finally another blow to the head came and he was knocked unconscious.
