Buffy Stuff: It turns out Squirrel has Season 6. (Just season six) on DvD, so I can watch these things in order. I'd like to reiterate, WTF LOGO, why make the episodes go 1, 9, 2? Seriously, why is nine the logical episode to follow one, especially as one and two consist of a two parter? Am I missing something here?

So I got to Once More with Feeling. It was amusing, but I the only bit that really got me laughing was Spike's rock opera. Of course, any excuse for Mr. Head to sing is just fine by me. (I love his voice. Weirdly, I first heard him sing in Repo:the Genetic Opera, which likely gives me a weird view of him generally. To me he's Nathan first and Giles second, just like Marsters was John Hart to me before he was Spike. I suspect this is a rare circumstance in geekdom). Tara's voice was blessedly clear, but I tended to tune out on the long ballad, which was likely a mistake. I think the songs were mostly not quite over the top enough for parody and too bland for really touching if that makes sense. It did work well enough on a pastiche leve3l that my brain kept pulling up songs from other musicals they were parodying style wise. I'll have to rewatch, as I'm having my usual trouble parsing sections on the first go round, so I may be simply missing what other people are loving about it. I know the parsing issue was particularly bad with Anya and her first solo was more than halfway through before I could figure out what she was singing about. I know that's likely brain wiring glitch as it can't have been as mushy as I was hearing it, if that makes sense.
