There were always arguments at the dinner table in the house. And Ida never really enjoyed them. They weres sometimes about stupid things too. For example:
"My friend Zack got a new dog, can I have one?" Ida's brother Dylan asked.
Pa looked at the ceiling. "Look, Dylan. We don't need a dog."
