it was amazing.
every year i go to camp for 2 days with my girl scout troop. we left on friday, and got back on saturday. ready for a marathon entry?
we got there about 4 PM, set up the cabins, and went to the lodge for dinner. we had BBQ chicken, potatoes, and veggies. we chilled in the cabins. the cabins are outdoors, and have breezy mesh windows. there are bugs everywhere, but i like them. they're cozy.
then, it was time for the campfire. it's usually held outside, but we had to use the fireplace in the lodge because it was too windy. we made some s'mores and performed skits during the fire, and chilled in the cabins after. (we had no activities sheduled for friday.) we played poker and betted with candy xp , and told ghost stories.
half an hour after lights out, it started to rain. a few of the girls who were in my cabin were all scared, and freaked out about tornadoes. LOL. twisted
it actually did storm. the rain was hard and the was lightning was bright. i totally loved it, but people wouldn't quit freaking and wouldn't shut up.
i learned that nature is quite cruel. it was boiling when we went to sleep, but freezing when we woke up. we hiked to breakfast to get our blood pumping. they served pancakes and fruit.
our first activity was the giant swing. it's part of the ropes course. they harness you to a rope above the mini-lake, and the other girls pull a rope that's attached to a bunch of pulleys. when they let you go, you swing over the lake. i didn't go, i was afraid. confused
we had free time, then lunch (woo! tacos!), then the Burma Bridge. the bridge is also part of the ropes course. your harness is rigged on a wire, and you walk across a rope above the mini-lake. there are side ropes to hang on to, and it's very hard. i went 2 times and didn't fall, though! blaugh
after the bridge, we went boating on the non-mini lake. it was cold and windy, but it was still fun. i learned that i'm pretty good at kayaking.
after, we explored the creek and left. i loved camp and i want to go during the summer. mrgreen
