The start of this day was perfect a rare summer day a wind not to cold not to hot. I was humming as i walked to my brothers place he wasn't my blood brother but that didn't matter we always had each others back. As i walked i heard sirens in the distance but thought nothing of it. As I rounded the final bend i tried to take in the scene before me. A ambulance sat in the front of my brothes place along with 4 police cars. I walked forward to the nearest police car intending to ask what was going on. When i saw his parents maid sitting in the front seat in tears a cold chill went down my spine as she raised her head and saw me she burst into more tears and threw her arms around me crying and shaking. I pushed her back and asked her what was going on. She opened her mouth and said three words i never wanted to hear "Dominick is dead". My knees gave way as i crumpled to the ground. I put my head in my hands as tears streamed down my cheeks. I struggled to my feet as a police officer approached from my appearance he guessed i knew Dominick. He sat me down in a near by police car and explained what had happened. After the police and everyone had gone i went inside to his room to take it in. His parents found me hours later curled in a ball on the middle of his bed. His mother wrapped her arms around me and cryed into my hair. The next few days after i was a ghost to myself i spent most of my time sitting in his room. I got up three days after it happened when i noticed a small white envelope in a book. The book was my favourite it was the first one i had ever read. The envelope was adressed to me like Dominick had known he would die soon. I read it and broke down again his mother came in to see me clutching the letter to my chest. She wrapped me in a hug and comforted me i had never had a mother who cared like she did.
Well thats one of the reasons why i treat my friends with great respect and defend them when they need help. My friends are my family.
