Basic background for one of my avvatars.
I was bored:

I was a genetic experiment, for what purpose I may never know but it simply was. Bonded to the mane, head, and upper jaw of a wolf. Throughout my years the company that sponsored me has observed how these parts grow in relation to me. As a child the edge of the mane reached to my feet and I'd often play with the other experiments, I in the role of a ship's captain, the mane my regal cape. I always covered my mouth, and still do to this day, as it had been warped by the testing.
As I grew taller and reached my teenage years the wolf pelt grew with me, though slower. So by the age of 14 it had reached it's present position in correlation to my body. The company provided me with suitable clothes and sent me off into the world. I had few belongings, only my mane and a company issued scarf for warmth, then of course the clothes on my back. I looked for jobs on seafaring ships, often to be found in the crow's nest with a telescope in my hand.
By the age of 25 I was a full fledged sea captain, having earned my captain's coat. I took to smoking to relieve the stress of command. My pants were beginning to get short so I patched them as best I could.
I am now older, I have attained command of a fleet of ships and earned my admirals cape and feathered belt. I'm blind now, I lost my vision in an accident under suspicious circumstances. I now realize the worth of my mane, as I see through the wolfs eyes instead of my own now.
