Adelise leaped over the stone railing leading up to a nearby metro staton. She reloaded her rifle and pressed her back up against the cold stone. Dark clouds hung overhead, the wind howling and the sounds of multiple bullets could be heard rattling into the railing she ducked behind.
The woman had laid out a handful of rifle slugs onto the step next to her, waiting for her chance to fire. Once she heard the sound of those malicious mutants swearing and seize fire, she knew they were trying to quickly reload having stupidly wasting atleast 200 bullets in their mini gun trying to get to her.
She pushed herself up and rested her elbows on the top of the railing, her feet had been ackwardly been firmly set on two different steps. It hadn't takin' long when she lined up the hairs of her rifle with the mutant's face. She pulled the trigger once, a bullet ripping through it's head. It hadn't been dead yet, however, but it more than likely had quite a headache.
She quickly extracted and chambered another round into her rifle. With much precision, she lined up another shot once he managed to finish loading, blowing a chunk of it's forehead off. That finished the b*****d off, sending it tumbling down with a massive thud.
When the other mutant had went for the minigun, another bullet ricocheted off of the weapon, forcing it's meaty hands to drop it. It looked back at the young woman as she stared at him through her scope, changing out yet another slug.
"Drop it!" she warned. It ignored her and quickly reached for the minigun. Another shot rang off and the round had slipped into's jaw, the contact with the powerful bullet had locked it's jaw, bleeding profusely.
"RRARRGHHHH!!" it roared, sending a spray of bullets her way. Adelise quickly ducked behind the stone once more. This time was different, however, this persistent little yellow scum had slowly edged toward the stone, still shooting. The closer the range had become the more stone that was chipped off until the stone had become riddled with bullets and nasty holes. The minigun's chambers had slowly spun, smoke rising from every barrel.
The giant mutant had laughed his a** off as he neared the pieces of stone left behind in hopes of finding a bloody mess. To his surprise, there was nothing there but the stone.
"Stupid human!" he yelled.
Loud darting shots had pierced through the back of his head and all over his back. It's flesh had been torn and ragged with discolored blood oozing out. The mutant wasn't phased very much. When he turned around, he saw the human girl a little ways from him with a different gun in her hands.
She stared intently at him, not even sparing another moment. With a few more pulls of the trigger it was down for the count. This was one fight that lasted too long for it's own good.
Adelise solemnly looked down at the mutants before kneeling over them and searching their pouches.
"Score! 45 caps and some ammo for my handgun!" she said, pocketing the items.
Bark bark!
Glancing over, Adelise smiled. "Hey boy! Good boy, waiting for me where it's safe. That's a good boy! Huh, what's this?" she muttered, pulling the item out of his mouth. Looking it over, she realized it was a blood pack. Thanks to Vance, this would come in handy if she ever ran out of food again.
Infact it would come in handy sooner rather than later. Ever since she entered the D.C. Ruins she hadn't been able to find food and she was pretty starved right about now... Not to mention the fact that it took her weeks to find this place. She was exhausted. Of course it kept her going to think that Rivet City could possibly be nearby.
"Come on, boy," she told him, standing up and looking around cautiously. The entire area was filled to the brim with Super Mutants and they weren't a force to be reckoned with alone...
Taking a look around, she'd noticed a large building that was somewhat intact. When she passed the metro station to get to the steps, she found a sign outside, nearly torn up but still pretty legible.
"Museum of History."
"Hey there tourist."
"Gah!" Adelise jumped, spinning around and aiming her sidearm at what seemed to be a ghoul...a woman ghoul. Raising a brow, she sighed and retracted the weapon.
"You scared me half to death, lady...what are you doing out here anyway?" she wondered. The ghoul laughed.
"I'm just hanging around until things cool down in Underworld."
"Underworld?" Adelise echoed.
"Yeah, I can see you're new, tourist, so let me fill you in. Underworld is located in the Museum of History. Of course I don't expect no smoothskin tourist to know that. It's a city for ghouls. Nice place. Nice people...." she said the last part sadly.
Adelise looked back at the museum. "Can I...Can I go see...?" she asked. Suddenly her stomach had growled loud enough for both the dog and the ghoul to hear.
"Ha ha ha, sure. They're pretty friendly and I think it'd be wise to eat somethin', tourist. Just don't cause any trouble," she told her.
Adelise smiled and nodded. "I won't. Well I'll seeya around, Miss...?"
"Willow. You can call me Willow...oh and if you get the chance...say hi to 'Charon' for me, will you? I haven't seen him in days.." she told the younger woman. Adelise nodded again.
"Okay, if I find a Charon, I'll tell him."
With that, both Adelise and her doggy had entered the Museum of History in hopes of finding food and a nice place to rest...hopefully someone to help her locate her father as well.
