Title Page

Raina Shadowclaw was seriously bored.

She was getting sick of all the idiots in her US History class. Mostly, because she was the only one who gave a crap and actually paid attention.

At the moment, she was busy doodling on her notebook paper, when she heard the windows in the door shatter. Then the classroom was invaded.

By plungers.

Raina had never played zOMG before, but she knew about it from Kira, Nolie, Rosalyn, and Toria. It was Gaia's MMO--and it had somehow gotten into the real world.

Backing up, Raina groped for somthing she could use as a weapon. A wooden rod. Fat lot of help that would be.

It was better than nothing. Apparently, the plunger-things didn't like getting whacked at...even though it didn't work.

Then a girl came crashing into the room. "I really hate Peelungers," she grumbled.

"What?" Raina asked. "What did you say these things were?"

The girl looked to her. She had super pale skin--almost white--violet eyes, long blonde hair, and was wearing a black Laceback Jacket and Skirt, blue stiletto heels, blue fishnet stockings, a pink hairbow, a red ribbon with a bell attached on her upper arm, and had one ring for each finger.

"Peelungers." She said. "You've never played zOMG before, have you?"

Raina shook her head. "How did you know I was on Gaia?"

"Not hard to guess, Pureraven91." The girl said. "Take this. It'll help you out. A lot." She handed Raina a black box with the G-Corp symbol on it.

Raina took it and opened it. It had a PDA in it. Nothing else.

"Activate the PDA." The girl said. "It'll guide you through the process of getting your Rings." She turned to go. "My name's Miki Lin, by the way." And she was out the door again.

Getting herself into a corner, Raina activated the PDA. The moment it turned on, it gave her two options: fight or not fight.

She chose fight.

Raina was given three offensive Ring options: Hunter's Bow, Hot Foot, and Solar Rays. She selected Hunter's Bow.

Next, three healing Ring options came up: Meat, Diagnose, and Bandage. She picked out Diagnose.

Finally, three defensive Ring options: Rock Armor, Ghost, and Turtle. Selecting Ghost, she was done.

The three Rings materialized in front of Raina, floating above the PDA. She took them, and slipped them on her fingers. They immedeatly got stuck, and she changed into her Gaia avatar: reddish polo with a blue stripe, collar and cuffs; dark blue punk pants, and sandals. Her hair turned long and light brown, her skin tanned, and her eyes dark blue.

Once the transformation was complete, she activated Ghost first. Then she went after the Peelungers with Hunter's Bow. They didn't last long.

Once the Peelunger invasion was over, Raina headed out of the classroom. Her PDA beeped. "Shadows10000, TehSpockinator89, and Twilight-Crystalblade nearby." It said.

Sure enough, her friends were headed up to the third floor.

And there were a bunch of Gramsters in their way.

Raina made a beline for the stairs. "Look out!" She shouted, and let loose with a volley of arrows. They all hit. Well, most of them--Raina had to admit, her aim wasn't exactly the best.

"Well, I take you already know what's going on." Kira said once they reached the third floor. It was quiet, for the time being anyway.

"Sort of." Raina said. "I only just got my Rings." She held up her hand, with three Rings on it.

"That's right--you've never played zOMG before." Rosalyn said. "So you're starting out with a 1.0 CL."

"What's CL?" Raina asked. She was confused.

"Charge Level." Nolie replied. "It's how high all your rings are total. The higher level your rings, the higher level you are." She pulled up her stats on her PDA. "In other words, the more powerful Rings you've got, the more power you get to throw around."

"In other words, you can blow up more stuff." Kira replied. Typical. Gun Girl loved seeing things go boom.

"We've got more pressing matters right now," Rosalyn said. "Gramsters coming at us."

Kira rolled her eyes. "Great. More of them?" She activated a ring; Fire Rain. The Gramsters were taken out in an instant. "Challenges, please." She groused.

"Uh, don't ask for more than you can handle." Rosalyn said. "Remember the last time you said that?"

"Aw, shaddup." Kira replied. "Let's just find out what's going on with Toira! Nolie, update."

"She's heading our way." Nolie replied. As the healer, Nolie was behind everybody, out of the direct line of fire.

Sure enough, Toria came running down the hallway, a large group of Kokeshi Dolls behind her.

"Here we go again," Rosalyn said, activating her own rings. At the same time, Kira let loose with a round up gunfire. Toria even let loose with Mantis.

"And you guys are up here why?" Toria asked once the fighting was over. The hallway was wrecked.

"Looking for you." The three girls answered in unison.

"And you now realize that we've got no way back downstairs, right?" Toria pointed out. They hadn't thought of that: by now, the rest of the school was overrun by Animated, no doubt.

"Crap." Kira said. "Well, any ideas how to get out of here?"

Toria gave them a look through her mask. Maybe they should have tried solving the problem in a different manner.

"Well, too late now," Rosalyn said, heading back towards the stairwell. They could hear screaming from below. From the sounds of it, the Animated were a lot more violent in real life than on Gaia. "Looks like we're gonna have to fight our way out."

"Works for me," Raina said, following Rosalyn. The other three came close behind, Nolie bringing up the rear with all her healing rings.

"Got any ideas how this happened?" Raina asked Toria. Toria shook her head. "Nope." She replied. "But let's get rid of the issue at hand before we tackle the how and why of the Animated getting into the real world."
