She stared into a mirror.
Do you like what you see?
"No." I replied
Then why don't you change it?
"Because I can't"
Well, Why not?
"Because I am who I am, Weather I like it or not. I can't change that."
But what if you could?
"Then I probably would."
What would you change?
"I would change everything I didn't like."
But what don't you like?
"I hate everything. If I could change, then it would be like an Everything-Must-Go Sale."
What does that mean?
"My hair, my clothes, my family, my past, my future, my friends, my everything!"
But would you be happier? Would that satisfy you?
"No..."
Then what will?
She paused and thought for a moment.
"Nothing..."
Are you sure nothing would make you happier?
"Only seeing him smile. Seeing him happy would make me happy."
Even if he wasn't with you?
"Yes..."
Even if he was with her?
Even if he was with her opposite... that was a lot to say...
"...Yes..."
But what if he doesn't want anyone else? What if he just wants you to change? Would you?
"If it made him happy."
Would you change your eyes?
She looked into her own deep beautiful green blue eyes, the one thing she treasured about herself.
"...Yes..." She watched a tear slip from her eye.
Why do you think he doesn't like you?
"Because of the way he looks at me..."
How does he look at you?
"With such care and concern... but with saddness and pity..."
Does that make you sad?
"Yes..."
Do you think if you stopped seeing him all together he would be happier?
"...I think so..."
Then why are you here?
"Because I'm scared..."
Why are you scared?
"Because I can't kill myself..."
Why can't you?
"I would never see his face again... I would never be able to see him smile like he used to..."
But what if that only made him sad?
She grabbed the razor blade and held it to her wrist.
"I don't want him to be sad again. I only want him to smile... even if he's without me..."
She slashed her wrists and was found the next day.
The person who found her was the man she died for. The only reason he was ever sad around her was because she never smiled. And so, he never smiled again..
