I was at Takii8 Today.
It's a tiny convention in Philidelphia, but it's still always fun. smile
The funny thing is, people don't believe me when I say it's small. I told my friend Lulu who I met at Zenkaikon about it, and he didn't believe me, and I told my friend Matt about it, and he said: don't be a downer. When I told him it'd be small.
Well, they were both surprised. But I can't say I didn't warn them.
It was all good, tho. The people there were sort of creeperish. Like this one fourty-some year old man cosplaying Jesse from Team Rocket. Thankfully he had spandex over his stomache and legs, so none of his scary manliness showed... but it was still scary! Mostly because he was wearing makeup and a wig, so he just looked like an old lady. I freaked out when he spoke! He was like: Hey. And I was like: wtf?!?!
Haha, and then he asked if I liked my costume and hugged me. So I sent him on my friend Matt. Poor kid said he is now scarred for life. xD
The karaoke was amazing. There were only a couple people brave enough to take on the japanese songs, but both of them had really good voices! One even did accapella! I was like: wait, isn't karaoke for the people who CAN'T sing? Man, I was glad I hadn't signed up.
All-in-all, it was a pretty fun day. smile People were nice, I guess because it's smaller so there aren't as many people to really talk to. Everyone kind of had their own ajenda though, but I guess that happens at every con. Some just cosplay and take pictures of themselves, some want to meet people, some go crazy over the stuff to buy, and some just do a little of everything.
I was sad that my best friend who goes to almost all the cons couldn't come, because I would have had more fun if she had been there, but Matt was still pretty cool to hang out with. Surprisingly. Haha.
