Laughter filled the room. It was a joyus time. Plates were passed around the long table. As the team gathered around to celebrate the year, Jacki game in with the center of the meal, the turkey. It was one of the few times of the year where things were quiet and it was a time to relax.
Leo grabbed the knife and cut the turkey into slices for the meal. Dr. Mallard passed around plates with slices. Smiles and chatter grew from one person to another. Adam and Ted had surprisingly not fought that night. Ally and Celia laughed over the way Leo was cutting the turkey.
Selena stood up with a glass of wine in her hand. "A toast, to our family, our friends, and our good fortune. May our years be full of happiness."
"Cheers!" Glasses clinked across the table.
