Overdue Brains
Cast :
We need a few zombies, so we might have to do some cool editing where we play a Zombie AND a normal cast character.
Mary Lockhart – female lead - more than likely played by me. :ugh:
Alex Donovan – male lead
Victor Sanders – first victim
Leslie Matthews – second victim
Setting :
Hopefully, in the library – as much as we can get filmed in there. The Community Room would be perfect! If not, then outside on that porch would be fine, since we need that anyways. And that parking garage.
<Scene starts at Parking Garage, empty top floor. Four people come into view, all crouching and carrying weapons. All have backpacks filled with supplies>
Alex : That building across the street looks empty… With no visible threat. I vote we move there.
Victor : Alex, why do you always make the decisions? You’re obviously not immune to this crap, and I’m assuming that you don’t have any more experience than we do with these guys.
Alex : Nobody is immune, that’s the point! Now shut up and follow me! And, yeah, as a matter of fact, I’ve been dealing with these guys for a very long time.
<Alex waves Victor off, Victor rolls his eyes and hesitantly follows. The group continues down the stairs slowly. At the bottom ground level, a few wandering Zombies can be seen far off in the street. The group slows down even more, and quiets down. They kill a few attacking Zombies. Slowly, they make their way into the building. Hopefully community room first, since that would be the best setting.>
Leslie : <out of breath and scared >Did you see them out there? They’re wandering around like Zombies!
Mary : That’s because they ARE Zombies, Leslie! <rolls her eyes, and checks the door behind them. Makes sure blinds are closed and everything is locked. Zombies can be seen in the parking lot.>
Leslie : I KNOW that, Mary! I just wanted to break the silence!
Mary : Well, say something intelligent next time.
Victor : Don’t talk to her like that!
Mary : Oh, shut it. You wanted to leave her out there when she slipped, remember?
Leslie : What? When I fell?
Victor : No, it was nothing. Forget it, I’m going to go check the perimeter.
<Victor exits through the door they entered, slowly, weapon ready. Alex continues checking the room, locking the doors by placing chairs against them. Mary and Leslie watch Victor leave worriedly.>
Leslie : I’m worried about him. He’s been acting way too rash lately. I think the isolation of it all is getting to him.
Mary : I think he’ll be okay. All of us are pretty stressed right now. We’re not even sure if we’re the last people on Earth or not, or if this building is even fully safe. I saw some of them out there, you know.
<Camera flips to outside; Victor is patrolling the patio. He reaches the railing, and sighs. Leans against it, and looks up. Zombies are rushing the building. He panics and tries to get in through the door behind him – the door that Alex has barred. Zombies come up the patio. He tries to reach the other door, and is captured before reaching it. Transition to inside the room. Group has food, Kitchen is open. The three are sitting in a circle in the middle of the room, weapons next to them. ’20 minutes have passed’>
Leslie : I wonder what happened to Vic… I’m sure patrolling this place doesn’t take that long! I’m going to go look for him. <stands, setting down her food and grabbing her weapon. She goes to the door, cracks it, and slides outside. The door shuts behind her and she walks towards the outside of the patio. >
Mary : Those two are a liability. I’m not sure how much longer they’ll survive. I caught Victor earlier examining his leg. I saw a pretty big wound on him, Alex. I think he’ll turn soon. <stands up, stretches, grabs her weapon, and walks halfway towards the door.>
Alex : I saw it, too. That’s why I didn’t go out there with him. When we were coming in…
<Leslie screams, transitions to outside. Victor is lying dead on the ground, and zombies are surrounding him. Leslie tries to run. Transitions back to the room.>
Alex : That was Leslie!
Mary : We better get out there!
Alex : It’s too dangerous! Don’t go!
<Mary runs through the door, weapon at the ready. Alex follows, wanting to protect her. Camera transitions to outside. Zombies are everywhere, and they spot the two survivors.>
Alex : Well, crap…
Mary : This’ll be fun…
<Zombies come running, Victor and Leslie both standing and joining the Zombie ranks. The survivors try to fight them off, and are overcome by the Zombies. A few more ‘punches’ are thrown, and the two try to die fighting. The group of zombies crowd around them more, leaning down to ‘devour the corpses.’ The two stand after some time, Zombified and rotting.>
