I sat in front of the window of my house, the light from the dim day outside the only thing brightening the room. My eyes were transfixed outside, watching the rain fall down in tiny droplets. They came down so fast... and yet... so slow. Some combining to make huge droplets, some remaining solitary as they made their small journey down to earth. I put my hand on the window, wanting to escape from this dark abyss so badly, just to go outside... just once...
I decided not to chance it. But maybe the raindrops would stop soon. All of them, just, ceasing to fall anymore. It didn't matter if they were big or small, little or long, they all had the same purpose. To fall onto earth, little time to do anything. I guess... we were like raindrops. When your cloud is holding too much, you're thrown from the cloud to careen down to... I really didn't know where. But one thing was for sure... hopefully you'd be fortunate enough to have a softer landing.
