Her eyes fluttered open from a force that was not her own. She stood up, shaking the snow from her body. Placing a cold hand on her forehead, she felt a scar throbbing with inhumanity she did not remember having.

It was daytime, and the vicious cold that fell from the sky the night before had been tamed by sunlight. The villagers clambering through the streets paid no heed to the little girl, their heads in the clouds about their daily hustle and bustle.

When she turned around, she saw words carved into the snowy ground in an ink that reeked of blood.

I await the death of everyone...

She scuffed snow on top of the words that were eerily perfect, hoping no one would see them.

The following days, some evil that lurked within the crevices of her mind took over. She caused mischief and chaos that no one could ever see within the eyes of this once-innocent little girl.

Mischief turned into greater mischief.

No one knew the reason she was doing this. When the mayor ordered her to be hung for stealing bread and stamping it into the soil of the gardener's crops, the whole town objected for it being too cruel of a death for a little girl.

But one day, everyone would regret defying it.
