Hey people! I have some news. I've stated a new fanfics! “Fade” as I am calling it is based around Alfons Heiderich and basically what might have happened had the gunshot not killed him.
I often wonder, what would it have been like had you survived? I know you where dying, there was nothing I could do about that, but did it have to end so abruptly? What if you had survived? Would things have been different? I don’t know Alfons. I guess I'll never know... I aim to make this one a heart wrenching as possible so be forewarned.
It all actually started when I did a research paper on the historical aspects of the FMA movie a ways back. One of the three topics I chose to address what his disease. I finally got the bright idea to ask my mom (a doctor) about it and the answer she gave me, including the historical aspects of TB at the time, gave a lot of insight into Heiderich’s character. I started RPing him on Gaia. This was pretty much the first time I had tried to RP anyone who wasn’t really part of my natural personality, so it was a bit hard at first. but since then I’ve developed an interest in getting as far into his head as possible, and what I discovered, and am still discovering, has really wowed me as a writer. he’s such an amazing character! I cant believe I hadn’t written him before.
About name spelling…
There seems to be a lot of confusion as to how to spell hei’s name so I’d like to clarify. Because Heiderich was created in Japan his name was originally spelled with kanji characters. When it came to translating it there was a bit of a problem. You see translated into English the name would be spelled "Alphonse" so you'd think it'd be a done deal. However translated into German, it would be spelled "Alfons" Some people have tried to compensate by combining the two leading to the spelling "Alphons" or “Alfonse” On the back of the original version of the DVD his name is spelled "Alphonse" but in the special edition its spelled "Alfons" So there is really no right answer. For this fanfic i have decided to go with the original German "Alfons"
