You came so close to helping your fellow man- good thing God saved you! 8D

So... It's Satanic to clean up your brother's bedroom as a favor? Holy crap, if that's the case them I'm terrified about what might await me for doing my weekly volunteer work on Monday.

Good thing I stopped believing this stuff long time ago! Otherwise I'd have to phone up my boss and say I can never help him again because I'd go to Hell for contributing towards the common good gonk

Woah, woah hey man! I don't agree with you there. That wasn't Satan at all I'm sure. I'd assume it would be God. Lots of things distracts us from reading the Bible. What if you're about to read the Bible when out of nowhere you hear "go out and preach the gospel." Do you not preach the gospel? By no means! Preaching the gospel is what we're called to do. What if someone is going through a hard time or sickness. You hear "pray for this person" or "go see or talk to this guy and show him you care." Do you not pray for the person and/or go to comfort them? Not at all! You pray for them and comfort them to help them know they are not alone and they can keep hope. Reading your Bible is important but it's not the only thing. What good is it if you can quote the Bible back and forth but don't follow it? What good is it to be able to explain every passage when you don't act on it? If anything, it brings more judgment upon yourself because you know what you are to do but ignore it regardless. This, my friend, is an act of brotherly love God could have rewarded you for. But you refused and read the Bible. If I could choose to live extremely Christ-like or know the Bible back and forth, I'd pick live extremely Christ-like.



As you've seen from another person who commented, saying and doing things like these can shove farther away from Christ. Be very careful, then, how you live - not as unwise but as wise...Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord's will is. (Ephesians 5:15, 17). Be careful how you live, because people watch you closely. And make sure you know what the Lord's will is. Perhaps he wanted you to clean your brothers room. And you could've read your Bible afterwards.


An example of Satan being sneaky is listening to a song filled with cuss words. You only heard it once but your friend hands it to you on a CD because he doesn't want it anymore. You hear "Hm....this is a good song...it only has some cuss words...and besides, I just listen to the music. Nothing bad could happen." That's Satan trying to be sneaky and trying to invade your mind with bad words via "good-sounding" songs. However, when it comes down to doing acts of love for your brother, I highly doubt that's Satan. I don't even know if it's possible.

And I hate to say it but Perversed Engineering puts up a good argument. It's reasons like these people abandon the faith. Nothing is wrong with helping others, and posts like these.....let me just say nicely that it would be very wise of you to remove this note from your journal.
