So I've seen it now.
I loved that they are used Rhys' special skills, that Ianto got to be an action hero, and the brother in law used the hooligan chavs to distract the surveillance. For once Gwen didn't even annoying me. I really like that they showed her and Rhys as a couple. Watching Jack and Ianto being a real couple to was pleasing. I also loved that Ianto coming out wasn't a big deal in his family.
The death was the one spoiler I couldn't avoid which sucked some of the fun out. (Of it's "impossible to avoid spoilers" why was WIG the only place I got spoiled?" Jerks.)
The death of the bureaucrat was really well done with the office manager talking about him as a man over it. I actually was so moved I shook during the chav battle with the riot police. it was so brave, especially with Andy pitching in at the end. It was good to see them capture some of the ugly that is under Captain jack's surface.
I do have some logical problems, like the hunting kids at their homes. It's time consuming and difficult when they could have hit up some better off schools. if they're going to do something that horrific with cold blooded efficiency, it seems to me cold blooded efficiency in execution would be more consistent. I also don't get why Frobisher didn't phone home to tell his wife to run with the kids. Better a chance at survival than what happened.
I'd rather lose Gwen any day. Ianto is consistently useful; Gwen generally causes vastly more trouble than she solves.
