Oz has been totally different since we were reunited with our new friends.
In my other periods I was separated from Oz and every single day when the bell ends first and fourth period he would whisper “Be on guard” as if Ill be in trouble.
Raymun and them don’t bother me or anything. They just look pale, with musical voices and they happen to be prettier and hotter then before. Main question is ‘Why is Oz acting this way?’. After thinking over about the new versions of our friends I decided it was time for questions. Emily was my first on my M.I.L (mental investigation list) so I planned to confront her in third period. English. I walked into G-204 to find Emily sitting in her desk only one row away from mine. I took my seat next to a guy named Henry. He was the only thing separating me from Emily. Then an idea struck me. Passing notes! Yes notes were old but I don’t know if this new Emily has a phone. I pulled out my composition journal and tore one-fourth of the page out. There I wrote:
Hey Emily why is your skin so
Cold?
I folded the paper up and once the teacher turned around I tossed it to Henry whispering “Emily”. Henry then tossed it at Emily’s desk. She looked at it confusingly and I heard Henry whisper “A note from Alice.” She then began to read it. Patience was my best quality at times like this.
*Clunk*
That was the sound of the paper as it fell on my desk. Something was in there and no sooner was my hand on the buldge of the paper. Then in red lipstick, cherry scented, on the paper were the words ‘Wait till its safe to open’.
I didn’t know what to do but somewhere in my gut I had the feeling that I should wait. What ever this thing is its circular but has edges all around, with a sphere slight shape. It was as big as my thumb but I was to wait until after school. Each period moved slowly as my curiosity got the better of me. ‘Ugh! Time move faster!…’ I thought with frustration.
Soon enough the last bell rang. “Thank god!” I said stretching while I walked into the hallway “Thank god what?” Oz said smiling as he walked by my side. I thought about telling Oz what Emily gave me but my gut was telling me once more that to wait, reminding me what was written on it. ‘Wait till its safe to open’ the words began to ring in my head. “Alice?” Oz asked poking my head “What’s on your mind?”. I looked at Oz and lied through my teeth “Nothing. Just I got Homework and it might turn out an all nighter"
"Need help?" he asked with a hint of hope.
"No. Thanks though" I smiled but i felt horrible for lieing to Oz. he was a good friend and here I was lieing to him.
