The summer vacation has begun, and with the ever more apparent fact that I will not be getting a job once more has left me with a lot of time on my hands. But, with the searching on the internet of Ghostbuster items (such as the Proton Packs, PKE Meter, etc.) has brought the desire to be a Ghostbuster this Halloween. My older brother (Who I'll refer to as Roberts from his YouTube user name DreadPirateRoberts) became interested in my lookings and decided that he to wanted to be a Ghostbuster this Halloween. We decided to make most, if not all the key parts of the costumes and hope to finish before Halloween so that we can go to the Village Halloween Day Parade and be part of the masses that attend each year.
We decided that we would make two different packs: I would have the Proton Pack, while he'll have the Ooze Gun/Slime Blower (as seen near the end of the second Ghostbusters movie.) Along with making the packs, we decided to also make the PKE Meter, the Ghost Trap, and the goggles. The only parts of the costume that we won't be making are the jumpsuits and the patches.
I decided to call this summer project Operation Zeddmore for two reasons:
1) To give these journal entries a interesting title
2) I called this after the fourth Ghostbuster, Winston Zeddmore, the everyman who was hired to help the Ghostbusters out even though he knew nothing of the field. Despite this, he succeed much as I hope Roberts and myself will do.
Hopefully, this project will turn out as a success.
Friday June 19, 2009 - Roberts and myself decide to be Ghostbusters for the Village Halloween Parade. We begin to gather reference photos of the objects we wish to replicate and start to plan what materials we will be using. We find a place that makes custom name patches and also sells the No Ghost arm patch. Operation Zeddmore begins.
Week 1
Sunday June 21, 2009 - I find a site with several 'blueprints' to make exact replicas of the objects from the movies. I send them to Roberts to use as a guideline to our own creations. (we plan to make much simpler replicas.)
Monday June 22, 2009 - The first bits of the costume are acquired. A tan jumpsuit is found and bought by myself for a little more than $6 at a local Salvation Army. I inform Roberts of my find and he says that he'll come over Wed. to see if there is one that he'll fit into. I find a old army belt & harness among my possessions that closely resembles the belt the Ghostbusters wear. Start to search for a pair of black boots.

Basically, this will be a keeping of whatever gibberish I find important enough to put down. Whether or not it'll make any sense or if you'll even care is a whole other topic.
