Orthodox resurrection of Christ is comming!!! - today - The Great Thursday is The day of The Secret Dinner. In Bulgaria we paint eggs in this day - in many different collors and put them in a bow covered with fresh crane's bill.
The eggs whaiting for the 00:00 in sunday - the time of resurection of Christ. All people stay front the Temple and whait The Priest to say "Jesus recurected" - and they say: "That is true" - we speak on ald Bulgarian language this words like spell - it is sound like that "Hrostos Voskrese!"- "Vo istino Voskrese"
After that all people around the temple start make round around the templewith candles in their hands) - 3 times. Then they enter 1 by 1 in the temple. The priest give them blessing, they put 1 egg for the Temple or Easter bread - named KOZUNAK.
When the servicein the temple is over people take one egg and start fighting - egg battles is verry important. This one who have most hard egg will be verry health and happy all year!
In all day of Ressurrection in Bulgaria we eat lam, Kozunak and fresh, greeen salad - and afcourse eggs smile
Today - in the Great Thursday we paint first one red egg and put it front the home icon of the Holy Virgin. This egg will protect home till next day of resurection. We must open the old egg from last year - if the egg is empty - we had problems in the house, if the egg is full all problems are fixed.
