Over this past weekend I accidentally hurt myself. While taking a shower I decided I should wash my feet. That isn't a bad thing, especially when they smell bad from a good day's run smile . But little did I realize that my back was towards the spout for the bath tub. So after I was done scrubbing I went back to stand strait up. My lower back, on the left side hit the corner of the spout, hitting down until my bone--or so it felt like--and preceded to go down a little bit more before I went down on the tub floor in immense pain.
The pain subsided within a couple of minutes. I turned around too take a good look at the gouge in my back. I was bleeding but there was soap all around the area so I had to wash that off first. After that I doused the area in rubbing alcohol, had my girlfriend place ointment on the affected area (since I couldn't reach it effectively to put ointment on the area), and then smashed a bandage on the wound.
A few days later I went in to see the doctor to make sure the injury was healing properly. She said that it was healing very well and fast, but just as a precaution I should get my tetanus shot. Now the reasoning behind that was because the injury was a deep cut, the spout was rusty on the inside, and I had not received my tetanus shot for over 10 years.
When I received the shot, it was not painful at all. I actually watched as the needle was in my arm and then the vaccine injected into my arm. About 10 minutes later though my right shoulder started to hurt pretty badly, like someone had beaten me in the shoulder. Even sleeping on my shoulder is still impossible due to the pain that is incurred when I sleep on my right side. And to make it more fun, my left side (where I got the injury) is still bruised/healing and hurts when I lay on my left side. Lol. I can only laugh at this point at how I've caused all this in a matter of a week.
Lesson Learned: Never have my back towards to the water spout in a bath tub, and to keep my tetanus shots up-to-date. Lol
EDIT:
Yesterday my girlfriend tried to lay on my shoulder only to find me scream in pain because she forgot that it is still very sore after my vaccination for tetanus. And then again when I got a shoulder massage last night as well. Oh, and I only realized how painful it was to sleep on my shoulder after rolling onto it the day of the vaccination smile . I know I did something else or a friend did, but I cannot remember off the top of my head. Oh well. As long as others are getting a kick out of my pain, I'm happy xD.
