Swiftly and ever so delicately she floated down and laid upon the amber leaves. Eyes wet and skin smudged, she twisted and writhed with arms outstretched towards the sky. Just one last try she thought. But her hands caught air and dropped. She sighed knowing it was to be expected. How could she ever be a star, when she couldn’t even shine? Words escaped her for she knew so little and so much was it that she had wanted. But laying there so defeated, how could she ever amount to more than the dirt she walked on?
