Another Remembrance day, but this one meant more to me. As we proceded with the laying of the wreaths we were coming to the end, and they announced "in memory of Zack Warden, laid by the Forbes family" Then my squadron was brought to attention, as I watched the wreath layer walk up with the family, the family was crying, and so were quite a few in the audience, inculding many people in my squadron. then it hit me, this was a young man, who died last year. He was related to a member of my squadron, and was once a member of my squadron, I never met him, but I could only imagine the pain that his family, and his friends were feeling. He died in a motorcycle accident, I remember, it was a Saturday night and I heard from my friend who as a member of the band at my squadron that they came in to tell his sister, one of our officers, that he had died, they told me how upset she was, and I could only imagine what was going through her head. Even though I knew him not, a tear rolled down my cheek, and I understood better what each of the people laying wreaths had felt at one time, when their own son's or husbands, or father's died in the war.
